This is a foam scratch built plane I named the Cess-nah!!! It is the best flying plane in my arsenal of 10. I tried to build it for $10 but because I added landing gear and actual hinges instead of tape, it ended up costing about $11. It took three days to build and I've been flying it for 6 months or so. I love this plane,. Motor- BpHobbies outrunner 2217-6, 25 amp ESC, 11.1v 2200mah lipo, three Bluebird 371 micro servos, 9" prop.

OMG The man is simply showing that you can build An airplane for RC for very little money. He is giving a lot of potential RC pilots hope that you can get into the RC hobby for very little money. And I for one am glad he did. Thank You.

Great job. I was looking for ideas about the motor mounts on foam....really great video. I have been using painters paper over glue. I’m going to use the method you discussed. This vid has many good ideas that I’m going to incorporate. Thanks again.

Carbon fiber tube runs $4.50 to $5.50 for a 36" tube. On the aileron control rods. You can polish the wire before bending, then coat them with Vaseline put them in place and build a dam out of clay at either end then fill the groove and wire rod with epoxy. After the epoxy sets the control rod will break free and the resulting epoxy bearing is slop free. Do this all the time for Q500's.

great job on that wing. Getting a one piece wing sanded like that isn't as easy as you made it look! I cut a "negative" guide out of a piece of 1/8" plywood and dragged that across a wing to make sure the shape was uniform. Good flyer!

That's a really nice build from scratch!!! Looks as good as some of the kits you can buy for way more than $10. I imagine that price didn't include the motor, but still... great!!! Theres a product you might try that is basically exactly what you made with the elmers type white glue. It's called Mod Podge or Hodge Podge. A waterbase sealer, glue & finish all in one. You can make thin coats or very thick almost clear plastic like coats that you can sand to your own preference. Comes in different types like flat, glossy or super glossy. I use this stuff on all my arts and crafts. Plus it won't eat the foam and the more coats you give the stronger it gets. Any arts supply or craft shop should have it. Couldn't find your flight video but I'm sure it flies well. Try that stuff out and happy flying,N8knox

This is great,, I use to use this on balsa planes as well many years ago,, it works great as a built up wing covering too. Dries tight just like silk-span. you can also tint it with water-base paint mixed in the glue and water

Sanding, melting etc with that foam in the house is dangerous to breath that in. You can't exhale it. You need to do that outside. Edit:. Also of you skip all the steps you did, it's no longer a How To Make video.... It shows you know how to make one. A lot of us have never built a plane yet, that's why we landed here.

If you made it for such price, I wonder how do they sell us for like 200$ and for nothing amazing at all. Then they probably just put some foam in a mould and comes the airplane all together that probably just needs a little of sanding and that's all (since we still have to glue at home). ps: Very nice work

Chris Wilds The Video I was watching that led me to this one was some guy putting an old 7200 RPM HDD motor into one of these. It was better than the standard motor that came with his from a hobby shop, and it was free! So you could do this all parts for $10 or under, just looks like it's a lengthy process.
