Hey, thanks man. I am envious of the awesome projects that you have done on your channel. I just saw your dynamic thumbnail video today and sorry I missed a chance to put my logo on it. 😁

This is amazing! This is exactly what I wanted to build for my kids myself, except I don't need that Alexa integration and I was considering QR codes instead of NFC, but NFC might actually be much better option.

Update 3/11/2021: Achievement unlocked! MARK ROBER commented on my other video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n6TSnmeEh6qkZ5Y Make sure and link the song or album that reminds you of the 90s. Every time I hear Glycerine by Bush it always takes me back to my college days. open.spotify.com/track/7wpYSigAhQeZp3cdsMQ3Af Also if you wondering why I referenced Mark Rober in my video intro, check out this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKfShmpnlK-dh8U

This is an awesome project and I've been thinking about a similar project for a while now but lack the programming skills - your videos are super helpful. Would it be possible to add microswitch pushbuttons to the wooden box for "back", "play/pause" and "forward" so the user has some sort of control over what is being played once an album is selected?
@MakerAtPlay
@MakerAtPlay 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. It would be really easy to add buttons to control the music. I actually programmed it to skip to the next song when you remove and place the CD while the music is already playing.

Hi! I'm amazed by this project! Would it be possible to connect the ESP32 directly to a speaker instead of using a Echo Dot?
@MakerAtPlay
@MakerAtPlay 3 жыл бұрын
To have the ESP32 play Spotify directly to a speaker would require there to be a Spotify App on the ESP32. I am not aware of any projects to get Spotify to work directly on ESP32. This might be a challenge because of Spotify's copy protection for the music stream.

Did you do three projects during the class or did you gradually enhance this one? Or was this just the last third project?

Hey sir! Loved your channel and passion! Just went through your Spotify API walkthroug, I'm new to coding. With Basics on JS and Python... what would you recommend me to learn in order to understand and explote Spotify API? Thanks!!
@MakerAtPlay
@MakerAtPlay 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. It kinda depends on what platform you intend to run your code. JavaScript would be my first choice as it is easy to learn and use. And it is supported on almost every platform. If you are looking to run your code on microcontrollers or create a mobile app, JavaScript might still work for you but there are better choices.

Where does the power source come from for the esp32?// what power source is used?
@MakerAtPlay
@MakerAtPlay 2 жыл бұрын
I split the power from the Echo's 5v power cord to feed both the Echo and ESP32. I wired two Micro USB Male Plug Cables (amzn.to/3NoG0np) to a Female Micro USB to DIP 5-Pin Breakout (amzn.to/3zlgNpG) to split the power cord. You can see the power splitter cord in this photo www.makeratplay.com/projects/46/index.html#power_wire

I don't care for smart speakers but i can see several ways to adapt to a PI Zero W, and also save some money by using youtube links instead + play them without video, headless with mpv
