In the spirit of this video series and buying retro gear it would be good to see you make a jungle track from start to finish using only retro gear as you would have back in the day.

Im BizzyB for those of you that dont know, oh yeah, i know brah, you were a legend on the amiga made music scene, if only youtube existed in the 90s... My 90s set up was an amiga 1200 and the atari 1040... i actully inherited the atari from nic nytro of the rhythmic state

Alesis MMT-8 Multi Track Midi Recorder was also a popular sequencer back in the day, cheaper than an Amiga and Atari ST but still old-school.

My dad had an Atari 1040e and Roland CM64 setup for his Notator studio back in the day. Most we ever used ours for was games ;)

I wish I had the patience to get further into old-school gear. I’m just gonna stick to my humble MPC 2000xl-Virus TI2-Akai S5000-PC w/Renoise & Recycle setup.

I've been racking my brain for months trying to figure out how to send your channels from your computer to mixer (audio interface with many outputs can't be the only way can it?) and then also once its gone through the mixer where does your mix go after for final destination.. some type of recorder? Any type of response would be extremely helpful! Thanks as always for the useful content :)

how good is the midi latency from a Amiga 500, especially to sync other midi gear?
@TheBizzyBScience3 жыл бұрын
spot on mate, better than a 2020 DAW for latency as its near enough if not zero latency

is an Amiga A500 with 1MB ram not enough? much difference with the A1200 for sequencing in Octamed?

@@serial_sequence2k Cheers m8!
@farben_3 жыл бұрын
I don't think those versions of Octamed have midi and you have only 4 tracks to program your patterns. They used to use to run two Amiga500 then they would play both at the same to overcome the limitations.
@loopmarster57703 жыл бұрын
Another option which I use is a laptop with windows xp a Atari emulator. Gives you the old school feel but on modern equipment. hook all up to the old school sampler, mixer and a view 90s synth. Most people have a laptop so would save on the price of the Atari or Amiga. But still have that old school hardware
@dxtrs_mnpltr3 жыл бұрын
@@farben_ Octamed 4 does have midi, there are plenty of videos of people sequencing external gear with it and most of the time on 4 tracks which should be enough if you know what you're doing. I think the reason for running two computers side by side was to overcome the inherent panning limitations of the system, 2. tracks for each channel (someone please correct me if I´m wrong)
