Glad the video was helpful! Thanks for watching! Really appreciate it! To paint them, i recommend a fluid bed. Tape the hook with masking tape and dip like any other jig. When the paint dries, remove the tape!

Beautiful looking spinner bait! I’ve been building a few recently and that wire to hold final blade is a killer idea. One thing I might had to your viewers is always keep broken or old beat up spinner baits. You build up a lot over time and so you can reuse the components to build new ones with! It is unbelievable how many new ones I’ve made the last few days using older parts. Simply fresh skirts after that of course checking hook sharpness. Great video!

I always keep the hardware on the spinnerbaits i use and end up fishing and bending out etc.

I'm looking for a really good spinnerbait mold. I have some old school Do-it molds. I've looked at modifying a poison tail or grass jig. ORRRR.... I am looking into the ultra head spinnerbait or a bug molds mold. I'm looking for one with eyes, good weight balance and a larger skirt collar. Do you have any advise or suggestions for me.

Ever do a Do-it mold fishing challenge, where you only use lures you made on Do-it molds vs. Someone using whatever they want?
@MattLunaFishing Жыл бұрын
I have not done that. I’ve thought about doing one solo.
@secretbassrigs Жыл бұрын
@@MattLunaFishing it's all about the challenge. Almost like Fishing with Norm, but less juvenile. It would be cool if Do-It funded the travel expenses for a few challenges. I'd totally like to see a surprise Do-It mold modification or trick bait kick factory but. I'm pretty sure, if people stay tuned all through the episode, that also gives the algorithm a bump. I forgot the guys name, but he calls his viewers that watch every video to the end, the "100% watch squad" Give it a try. Hooksets are free after all.

Other than the wire keeper any other mods to this mold? Baits run good stock?
@MattLunaFishing6 ай бұрын
Not other mods. Runs good stock. I do make sure everything is straight after i take it out of the mold. If they are offset I’ll bend it into place

Ok…. I just bought this mold! I need to know do you feel that the owner 3/0 is adequate for up to 5lb largemouth spots and smallmouth??? Or now that you have made them awhile would you go with a 4/0? I want to order some hooks. I like to make my other spinnerbaits kinda compact. I really appreciate any advise information.
@MattLunaFishing11 ай бұрын
My PB 8 pound largemouth was caught on my spinnerbait made with these components. I think it’s fine. You can try a 4/0 and see what works best for you.

Does it run horizontally, or does it nose up on the retrieve? Thinking about buying this mold or modifying my poisontail mold to make spinnerbaits. Thanks
@MattLunaFishing Жыл бұрын
This runs great. If they run wrong it’s probably a component issue and not a mold issue
@christophershelton17356 ай бұрын
Also. What’s the average cost to make your own spinnerbaits? A guess would be just fine. Thanks
@MattLunaFishing6 ай бұрын
It’s really hard to say. It depends on what components you want to buy. High end blades aren’t cheap but low end are. Hooks are another one that can vary a lot. I’d say you can make a good spinnerbait for at most $5 per. Probably cheaper in reality. I’ve never done the math.
