Fun fact: you can hand-wash silk with a gentle detergent without it damaging your garment. Which makes total sense when you consider the fact that silk garments have been around a lot longer than dry-cleaning has.

It depends on the silk fabric... If you wash very fine silk fabric such as chiffon and organza, even if it doesn't become a disaster, the fabric usually gets softer afterwards and the garment loses its original shape. Also, silk fabric (and other fabrics such as very expensive linen) sometimes loses its glossy appearance after washing.

If wash tag says washable, usually you can safely wash it. Silk poplin and gabardine are usually washable. The fabric might get a little bit stiffer, and less glossy after wash. There's a slim chance that after wash, the silk get discolored, resulting light-colored silk appearing to have yellow stain (raw silk color), or dark silk fabric coming out with lighter patches, which is, fortunately, not very common. However, if fabric's loosely woven, very thin or vulnerable, it's a safer to just send it to a professional cleaner. @@Meep295

For me the best material for summer is tencel/liocell. It’s sometimes called “cold silk” as it has cooling feeling on skin, but its not as delicate as silk, much easier to care. Highly recommend

Amen to the material having to dry quickly I don’t know what it is but during the summer I’m sweating A LOT more something I find that helps is wearing more oversized tops like button ups with a tank top ❤❤❤

I have the Abercrombie white linen blend pant (3 pairs) and it looks amazing. 🥰 The blended fabric doesn’t need much ironing/steaming (I wash & wear) bc it hardly gets wrinkles.

Great tips! One of the things I did to save money when I was younger with a small salary was to get an envelope and write the item I wanted on it. I’d save up for it and more times than not, by the time I had enough it would be on sale and I’d end up getting more than I wanted. The classics are worth the investment. I’m 48 and just gave away a little black dress I bought in my 20’s…to a teenager. Not a stitch was loose. It was in pristine condition and I’ve worn it many times over the years.

You really get into the details that I haven't seen other creators dive into as thoroughly as you do if they even touch on on it at all. even though they are super important to know if you want to look good in the clothes you're spending your money on. Proportions, fabrics, history/fun facts, random accents, etc.

Great content! I always heard the “no white rule” was due to the chroma of the colors (white vs black). Dark colors absorb heat, which is useful in the winter since we’re in cold weather. White reflects the heat, which is useful for summer.

I live in Singapore where it is hot and humid all year. We wear either shirts and tank top or a thin t shirt or a dress. Even sleeves on a dress are too much. Because we walk a lot most wear sneakers even with a dress although for work the uniform is smart a line dress and low but formal shoes. Jewellery and fancy bags are the only way you can signal style so the handbag ‘purse’ scene is big. We don’t wear hats but carry an umbrella for shade. Hats make you hot. The tank tops with integral bra are a godsend.

Try Serena Bute London for Silk Shirts or Silk blends, her clothing line is premium but you pay for chic quality and, her designs are flowy floaty comfy Silk pieces. And if your a real Sweaty type, there's no fabric that will sustain that but perhaps using a cotton pad in your arm pits.

to your last point, rings during a hot summer day can get pretty uncomfortable. if the ring is gold, an investment piece, you probably got it in the size that your fingers/hands are MOST of the time, so cooler weather. your fingers will swell and make rings uncomfortable, at least in my experience. and i always take an overshirt (i get them in the men's section of goodwill) which i wear in the sun cause i am stupid and don't use sunscreen. just make sure it is cotton/breathable, and the bigger/looser it is, the cooler it will be in the heat.

I love denim shorts but they just don’t go with my body type and essence. I’ve accepted it because I end up not wearing them. I look for like a paper bag high waisted style shorts. Comfortable with any top, with any shoes. Effortlessly put together.
