Hey Mitre 10, I'm a brickie from the Uk... And love what you do for the Nz ! Wish we had a similar service for people who'd like to do some chippy work. I took up a load of our t&g from a loft conversion I'm doing and put together this chest yesterday...!! Thank you for inspiration and keep it coming...!! Dave (from the uk)

Cheers mate. Overall, a nice job. A couple more hints. Always use a screwdriver to mount your brass screws. It is too easy to snap off the heads with a power drill. Second, I noticed you left many nails and screws above the board surfaces. Might want to countersink them.

I don't under what you're talking about. Here in the western world we pay money for well drawn up woodworking plans.
@MrBonners8 жыл бұрын
David As he said, the material was old floor boards. He is not building a high end chest and he is not selling plans. Plenty of online sites have plans for sale or for free. Can you not wipe your ass without instructions? What ever measurements you want and the material on hand can give you.
@MrBonners8 жыл бұрын
David It is a shop lap 'six' board chest, not a Saturn 5 rocket and this is woodworking not rocket science. Detailed measurements are not required by even the most amateur of woodworkers. No patience for people that ask first before even attempting to engage few brain cells. Intellectual laziness can't even make the effort to word search 'treasure chest' or cut up some scrap to test build. They need everything just handed to them. We need a war to clear out some dead wood.

I absolutely loved building home fireplace mantles, cabinets, u need it, but we had the tables and saws needed, IM SO LOST AT HOME, can I accomplish building this if I don't have a saw to cut angles for the top? I only have a hand skill saw, with no table arrg, it hurts me to watch all these great tutorials, when I know I don't have tools that r needed
