Great info! I built mine with the strongest 28 spline axles That nitro gears make, mini spool and welded everything on a 4 link. It handled my s10 with a sbc 421 on a 300 shot of nitrous for years. Finally broke the cast iron center section by giving it everything it had at the launch and dead hooked the slick. It broke the welds and center section in order to spin the axle tubes. It handled 100s of 1.5 60ft hits

Great video, another benefit to a 7.5 .... They zap a lot less power than a 12bolt, 8.8, 9inch etc. Your run of the mills budget little 305 , 350 etc will feel alot peppier with a 7.5 behind it than a 9inch. The 7.5 rear end isnt as bad as folks think. Most of them that break are high mileage units with a lot of slop and then get a fresh engine with double the power and someone in the driver seat beating the shit out of it. Bare minimum, if you have one with miles on it. Throw fresh spider gears in it, new wheel bearings and a good performance fluid and it'll be ok. Your build is perfect to make one live forever.

They are cheaper to build, not superior. Ford small blocks are phenomenal engines, ford mod motors were kinda gutless NA but they are reliable and take boost like a mfer, new Gen mod motors are every bit as good as ls motors.

@@fatdan172501 I love my 5.0, it is quite impressive and has a wonderful exotic exhaust note. I get what your saying, but LS and LT engines have their own charm being pushrod engines and allow for larger displacements in smaller phyiscal foot print, and thus have greater natural lower RPM engine torque, their both great engines and the Coyote with its 32valves and DOHC design has great upper rpm power potential and is in some respects is more enjoyable to ring out but as I said as a 5.0 owner I can appreciates chevys approach by sticking to the push rod design, theres more then one way to design engines and where better off for having competitive offerings from GM and Ford and even Dodge.

Thanks for the Info man, Iv been debating if i should swap out my 7.5 on my 03 mustang v6 to the 8.8 now I'm planning to build my 7.5. Do you have any opinion on Yukon dura grip lsd/axels? I hear they make strong product's.

Have an 89 s10 with a 383 stroker, about 425 hp. I believe the rear end is 7.5, would this set up still be the same as in the video? Was about to buy a 9 inch before I seen this video.

@@Mr_getinthere Thanks for the quick replay OG, so with the axles you suggested do you know if it's the same stud pattern as what I have now. Believe the one's I got now are 26 spline axles, just hate to lose my rims, ya know.

Hey question does the axle length change from the series 2 to series 3 . The 28 spline is shorter then the 26 spline is it because the center section is wider? Cause I went on eBay n they don’t sell a 28 spline the same length as a 26 spline . Please hit me back so I can figure this out . Thnx

Axels are the same no matter if it's a 2 series or a 3 series carrier

My fox has a 7.5 and i was going to go 8.8 but i wanted to see how my 7.5 would hold up. I think it should be fine if your not using a trans brake

If you aren't running over 800hp you will be just fine with upgrading what you have
