How to build a watch from AliExpress parts | First ♂ Timers ♂ Edition (Right version)

From zero to hero DIY watch with a Seiko movement, including assembly with a nh36 (like a nh35 but with day disc) of the watch, modifications to the hour hands and the mechanism and calibration with a timegrapher (weishi 1000).
I'll call this one the blue tuna, as it's based on the Seiko Tuna case.
Don't worry this will be only a trilogy and then back to scale models and miniatures ;)

Have you check or renew the o-ring in the knob/crown? Can cause waterleakage. Well done.

I’m currently wearing a watch that I modded myself. I bought it with a red dial, but the lume pips were misaligned and not bright. I put a blue mother of pearl dial on it and the new dial and the hands I put on it glow very nicely, but they scratched slightly when installing them. I have a spare set of hands on standby, but I will keep the current ones on for now. The ceramic bezel is next on my list as its lume pip came off, so I’m going for a fully lumed bezel. I also have an old beat up Seiko 5 that I’m planning to revamp as it has a nice silver and gold dial. I’ve modded a few other watches and assembled a few others from scratch. As for looking for nice hands, knowing the colour code of the lume helps. BGW9 is blue and C3 is green

Awesome Build, do I need any spacers or other things to hold the nh35 in the case? Maybe Screws or something to hold it in place?

Nh3X movements come with a plastic outer ring that fits snuggly on cases made for them, so the vast majority of cases sold on aliexpress or ebay, just searching the right thing will work out. But specifically it's a mix of the rehaut holding it so it doesn't go "up", the crown stem holding it and the pressure fit between the case and the plastic ring of the movement itself.

My hands always have worse lume than the dial from aliexpress. Any advice?

Either find a good seller (probably better off playing lottery type of odds) or go the hard way and get a lume kit from ebay with superluminova or hands from a OG spare parts seller.

I’ve not had much interest in building a tuna but I just may need to now. Also, your date may be off if you used a 3 oclock crown movement. You may need a 3.8 crown movement

Don't worry it's at 3.8. Not like the debacle of the other watch I build... (still editing the vid). The tuna is a watch that I never paid much attention until I randomly tried it on and love it since then, been on the hunt for some arnie too now as DIY route is non existent sadly.
