No, there’s no felt. Just the wood slat

Why wouldnt you stain or paint the wood before putting it up? It would make things much easier and give the wood time to dry so it doesnt stink up the house

That’s true!! That option wasn’t available to me otherwise for sure

Question: How is the contact paper and nails not going to ruin the walls? It’s beautiful though..
@lilithphoenix6103 Жыл бұрын
Contact paper is a self-adhesive semi-permanent wallpaper. Instead of pasting to the wall like you would regular wallpaper, a contact paper essentially, is an easy stick and peel solution making it friendly for renters to design their home to how they want without making any permanent design changes to the rented property. As for the slats, I would assume that Ida managed to get written consent from her homeowner that it would be okay to nail slats to the wall, I also noticed that Ida used minimal contact from the nails making cleanup easier on her homeowner should she decide to move onto another property in the future. It's always important to get written consent when you're putting holes in the wall, there's every chance you may shoot through a hollow wall into some plumbing or gas pipes which would be an expensive cleanup for the homeowner which is usually the main reason why people suggest not nailing things into the wall. Not to mention if the damage is renters fault, the homeowner is obliged to sue you for property damage. You may be lucky to have a generous homeowner who understands accidents happen and they'll let it slide on the promise that you'll ask for consent prior making any future changes. I hope this helped. 💖

I’d say it’s also important to mention to wipe excess stain off wood and not let it dry. You’ll end up with a sticky residue. Also sanding wood will help wood absorb the stain. Great looking project!!

Txs for the video. Was it easy to get Home Depot to cut the plywood to size?
@IdaAlexis11 ай бұрын
Hey! Home Depot wouldn’t do so many small cuts so I had a carpenter cut for me

So you had HD rip the 3/4" plywood for you? And, they wrapped it in plastic for you too?

@@IdaAlexis It's more that the mic volume is too low. I just happened to watch the video at night and didn't want to wake everyone up. Then the next day realized that a lot of DIY channnels run their music high

I just want to ask why you didn’t remove the outlet covers altogether and save them to replace when you move out. You could have covered the holes with the paper.

@AlexSomers-d2n8 ай бұрын
In this case, the contact paper probably looks better. The sheen and texture match the wall and the recepticles don't have to be changed.
