Gregg, a great job showing guys options to build their own openable bridge. I ran an openable bridge on my Kestrel and experimented with using a Ropeman 1 instead of a prusik knot. If stepping into the saddle is an inconvenience, then this is an excellent way to remedy that. I found after using both a fixed bridge suited my needs just fine, so I went with an adjustable fixed web bridge and hadn't looked back. Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed it.👍

Sure it could,, it’s just going to be a bit heavier and bulkier than, say the 8mm rope I used in this video. 😊
@thomasbellman1812 Жыл бұрын
at the end of the video you show how you have your saddle setup with an openable bridge but it is still adjustable on the bridge loops with a prussic knot. 2 questions: 1) what is the diameter and length of the continuous amsteel loop? 2) did you like doing it this way or did you go back to hooking the carabiner directly to your bridge loop?
@StaggsintheWild Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure on the Amsteel loops as those were made by Jerry over at Custom Gear Modifications… I clip my carabiner directly to the bridge loop and always have … the Amsteel loops were shown just for the video.
@MrHuntfishdive2 жыл бұрын
I set up my Cruzr XC the same way as the last saddle you showed but all Amsteel. I’d rather a schwabisch over the pursik though.
@paulcrave31122 жыл бұрын
On that trophy line bridge, you can always girth hitch it to the left side and run the prusik on your right side.
@StaggsintheWild2 жыл бұрын
Yep... that would be simple enough. I don't like the tag sticking out in FRONT of my carabiner; that's why I build them with just the carabiner in front of the bridge, with the excess rope for adjustment BEHIND my bridge loop down by my side. :)
@paulcrave31122 жыл бұрын
@@StaggsintheWild you just have to re-tie the prusik.

Can you build a tether, lineman’s belt and a bridge with HSS Lifeline rope?
@StaggsintheWild Жыл бұрын
You could … it would just be heavy and bulky. That’s what’s so appealing about 8mm RescTech
@BonerChammp Жыл бұрын
Thank you! The hawk helium has really poor quality rope and the bridge doesn’t sit right with me. I have the HSS new in the box and figure i could use that for the time being until i replace with Resctech. Love the channel! Keep up the great content!

Sorry for the stupid question as I don't use a saddle yet, looking into it. Could I just use my lineman belt for a bridge? Obviously I n would not be open. Thank you
@StaggsintheWild2 жыл бұрын
No stupid questions … if you purchase a saddle it will come with a bridge. Most people would rather the bridge be attached to a saddle’s bridge loops and not the lineman belt loops … plus, you sorta want to keep those separate so that as you navigate around limbs you can stay attached to the tree the entire time.

can you make it with 2 careeners one on each side so you can clip it on both ends on a hunters safety harness? so it would vbe like a linemans belt?
@StaggsintheWild7 ай бұрын
I guess you could build it any way you wanted; you’d have to determine if it met your needs in your particular application. I prefer to have a separate lineman’s belt to go over and around limbs as I’m tethered to the tree with my bridge. I keep my lineman’s belt daisy-chained to its loop on the side where it hangs out of the way until needed. I never even notice it’s there.

I like your videos very informative I never saddle hunted before and it seems very interesting been hunting a box at a farmers private land but he's selling. so I have to figure different ways to go out and hunt. so I guess have to be more mobile. I am 57so might be more of a challenge to me but I like how it more versatile where i can setup and not leave or carry a lot of equipment. thank you for all that you do I am a big fan!! still contemplating on what saddle to get i'm 5'9 about 215 so looking for a good ,comfy, safe saddle. you advise would deeply be appreciated.@@StaggsintheWild I was looking into transformer saddle by overwatch any thoughts?
