Saw this video for the first time a few weeks ago and immediately felt inspired to use this technique as the basis for a build; after several days of work, I've pretty much finished it, and I love how it turned out. This is pretty damn sweet, Vlad! Damn bro, like really really sweet! I can definitely see where it'll take some fandanglin to get things just so, but the end result looks so worth it! Hell, just to have the stairs where they should be is awesome enough, but now we have a coat closet under the stairs! If only we could hang up jackets or clothing, that would be awesome!

In the 90's we had cheatcodes to spawn tanks, weapons etc... now we need "cheatcodes" to build Spandrel closet's since the building in the game seems to be incomplete. Nice work mate :D

How you get the foundation in front of the stairs it only letting me off setting it

That's where the blueprint comes in. If you built the blueprint and place it, it will flip the foundation into the spot in front of the stairs. Without the blueprint, the game will have collision errors that prevent placement of either the foundation or the stairs depending on which one you build first.

Not quite sure if I'm doing something wrong or if they've patched this with the Pitt update, but I am not able to delete the corner foundation after blueprinting and placing again due to "some areas will be inaccessible" for some reason it thinks the slanted arch piece is needing that foundation Edit: it does still work, I was just dumb lol

Edit: The placement is super picky. Sometimes you can remove items sometimes you can't depending on angle. Sometimes you can't switch atom shop items based on angle and placement too 🤦🏻 (Disregard below) Does this still work after patch? I noticed I can't switch my atom shop roofs and stuff over anymore....

Yes, it still works. Sometimes the edit option gets "stuck" and won't let you switch until you got to the item in the build menu and change it to another option ie. a door panel instead of a solid wall, angled roof instead of flat. Then going back to edit it allows you to change. It's weird. Switching servers can help too if it does this.

What the absolute hell dude? You really do think with portals. I've been trying to work out how to make those little half floor balconies from FO4in 76, but because there are no vertical half walls I cant work it out. Can you, you literal CAMP building legend?

Does this also work with the alien catwalks? Tried the other flush wall with them. I couldn't seem to make it work and man did Todd get a cussing....

All the tricks with the catwalks should work with both the regular and alien variants.

@@VladministratorGaming I should mention that I've only been playing sense the fasnacht event of this year. So I'm still trying to figure out the building mechanics. Your videos and a few other builders have really improved my building vastly. My last two builds are 1000% better because all of you so thanks.

love this .. Thanks lots. OH question. How did you get your Deathclaw statue to sit atop the clasicial column? I have been unable to place the deathclaw and the brotherhood statue on top of the column it always gives me a "cant support" Thanks :)

I don't mind them as floors. If you've got the Log Cabin set, you can make them green instead of the normal roof texture. And we've got rugs. 👍

What parts do you include in "everything"? They're definitely certain walls you can't place using the catwalks. But anything that makes your process quicker and simpler a plus. 👍

@@VladministratorGaming the catwalks now have a snapping point they never used to have you can place your foundations using them for stairs then use the catwalks to place your walls in place where you need them. I altered my camp without having to rebuild just by removing 1 foundation added a stairwell to my upstairs with walls either side as you have.

@@john19799 yeah, I know you can use the catwalks to place walls, and they've always had a snap point for foundations once the fixed their initial snapping problem. This build uses the flush stairs though, where they're right up against the wall. You need the floor flip to do that. While catwalks will get the stairs in the right place, it won't let you put a foundation under them inline with the wall. I also used angled walls for the banister, which can't be placed with the catwalks.

@@VladministratorGaming if u offset the foundations using catwalks to leave space for stairs use angled walls and build your sides place the stairs last u get the same result to move foundations just destroy bottom walls with flamethrower. To use normal floors just set a foundation in place offset with smallest catwalk place the flooring for upstairs it will be floating but then just remove catwalk

@@john19799 @john19799 It'll tell you the foundation is floating and can't placed once the normal, non caged stairs are in place flush with where your wall will be. You can't place a upper floor attached to just a catwalk outside of a shelter. If you snap the regular floor to the stairs, then it sticks out of the building. Sure you could offset a foundation with the catwalk to place a set of flush stairs, but it's not going to let you move that foundation with the stairs attached to it, you'd have to slide all your other foundations over and then you've got an odd shaped building plane for everything else. Tried the simple way first, it's not ideal.

It does have several steps, but it gives a nice looking result. With a little practice I'm sure you can pull it off. Yes, there's the possibility that future updates may make the technique not work, but any existing camp with the feature would remain until you move it. 👍 Thanks for watching.

Your character's level really has very little to nothing to do with how difficult building this will be. It may cause you to use different walls (i.e. standard wood, or whatever else is readily available without finding too many plans) and atom shop items (i.e. catwalks, log cabin walls, etc...). What it take is patience and practice. When I first started Fallout 76, my building skills were shit, comparitively, and I had been building in Fallout 4 for years. I had to re-learn the building mechanics all over again. It'll take some time and experimentation to start noticing what can and can't be done. You'll get it, don't give up, and don't sell yourself short. When you finally get that one thing to work after hours of trying its so satisfying to just sit back and check it out. Good luck to you, and remember its supposed to be fun, so if something is causing that much trouble, just put it away for now. Do something else, a mission, event, or build something else in your camp, and come back to it later.

@@MerrillDragonAge that's too bad, I'm still enjoying the game. I'm on my third playthrough right now. I'm takin it a little slower this time. Still leveling up quite nicely just killin, crafting, and exploring. I haven't even left the forest yet. I do see how after a certain point, there's almost nothing to do in the game except the same daily missions, which is another reason I'm taking it slower. I've noticed most people either hate the game or love it, no real inbetween. And I get it, some of the games bugs and lack of content at times can turn people off to it. Hopefully you're still havin fun gaming, even if its not on Fallout, video games for me are like my stress relief after a hard day at work.
