Great idea for the sliding back door. I'll use that on mine. I will also put the top on hinges and attach legs so it can be opened and the underside will become a work table. Those who build Harbor Freight trailers need to know that the wheel bearing grease that comes with it is a cheap grade. The bearings need to be thoroughly cleaned of the old stuff and the grease replaced or they will overheat and can be seriously damaged.

It’s always a bit daunting doing something for the first time good luck, I have built a larger trailer which we use to sell street foot at carnivals and events , the cost of buying a professional one was over 20 thousand dollars for something clean and decent , after buying a chassis from a caravan and plant breaker I built one myself up with quarter of that money including a grill and extractor, and worktop and storage cabinets looks professional enough and it’s safe

Im thinking bring tools and a few taller pieces of wood camping so i can clamp on tarps for a temporary "tent" off the ground

Very good. Just curious why you didn't bring the back post for tailgate down to deck but left a space? Left rear 2x4.

I don't remembrer. I would recommend at least 5/8 Plywood
