When running the bump do you have to have the screw jack in order to make it right, my question is when you know where it will go will you ever adjust the screw jack for the shock?

The jack screw can definitely help you dial in the load on the bump but it's not required. You can use shims that pop in to do the same thing. Crate Racin took away our bump stops before I ever got the chance to use this one. On my camaro, when I ran it in Crate Racin SS, I did run a bump before with good success and I only changed it when I changed the bump and went to a softer bump I needed it to engage faster.

I've run that style Falcon Setup for years. it's nice that it promotes drive and reduces wear on the main bearing in the trans. Still susceptible to breaking ears, and will wear the intermediate shaft, collar and Crank Coupler. pros and cons to that set up I guess. definitely easier to line up when you're installing the trans.

I have a friend who runs CRUSA mods and he runs the Falcon and said his has wore off the splines and he is going to have to replace the input shaft before running this year. I just slid mine all back in the build last night but before I did I was looking hard at it for wear just in case. I agree with you its better in one way but worse in others so pick your poison.

I always cut out and box in the area where the fuel pump is no matter what the rules say about engine placement. It is for safety so that if you hit the wall hard and at the right angle, the fuel pumps on Chevys at least can be broken right off which then can lead to a fire. Engines that are placed further back it is a must but even engines in stock location with stock mounts, I still modify it. Nice job again Jason!

I agree whole heartedly. Build for safety first then rules second.

Thank you David, thats just what I am after. Sounds like you are like me. Its not that I want to copy somebody else, its that I want to understand what others do and why they do it to help me build a better mouse trap.

Doesn’t it matter the angle of the motor and tranny to the rear end ? If so how do you know the engine is gonna be at that angle without checking the angle of the rear end and driveshaft ? Awesome videos keep them coming

Craig, great point. Yes it matters. I set the engine level because i want my yoke on my drive shaft to be at exactly 90 degrees. That makes it much much easier to set my pinion because all I have to do is put my angle finder on my rearend housing face where the pumpkin bolts up and read the angle less than 90. So for example if I set the rearend at 86 degrees I know that will be 4 degrees pinion angle. What i am after is for my rearend to reach 90 degrees and be no angle under maximum load. Still a ways from that video but we will get there! Thanks for watching and the comment.

David, its on the channel page and then if you look in the description of my latest video I have a link there as well. I appreciate you checking into it and sorry for the confusion. That joker was a button in my video but you tube changed that this week. Sorry :(

Wouldn’t have been easier just to buy a set of moroso solid engine mounts?
@DIRTRACELIFE
@DIRTRACELIFE Жыл бұрын
No sir, not at all workable for this type application. they wouldn't bolt up to the frame because the rear offset would have them partially off the cross member and the main issue would be the height change.
