Nice work, the only drawback is the foam will act as an insulator and prevent the panel from dissipating heat. When panels get hot they lose efficiency. An aluminum frame or a panel with standoffs or ribs would be better. Anything to allow air to circulate underneath.

Vidéo sympa. Petite astuce qui rajoute un peu de poids mais qui peux ramener jusqu'à 30 % de rendement aux panneaux. coller une mince feuille de polycarbonate ( ces feuilles sont cloisonnées. les très grosses servent à faire des toits de véranda). Cela crée un filet d'air laminaire qui refroidira naturellement les panneaux ;) ). C'est pas cher et ça peut être utile pour recharger plus vite. Cela augmente la durée de vie de votre panneaux souple. Voila, voilà. Pas de Bla bla, juste du partage. Merci Hugo. Je suis ton parcours avec grand plaisir. Bon vent.

Oui c'est vrai, ca rajoute du poids et de la prise au vent. Au final avec ce montage les panneaux produisent presque au niveau des chiffres donnés apr le constructeur, ce serait intéressant de faire un essai sur le banc avec et sans systeme de refroidissement

Just as an afterthought, we used to weld little wings onto bolt heads to prevent them from having the ability, after lots of uses, to start to turn within the bonding agent. Less of an issue when using epoxy and having people with manners tightening and loosening them.

I bought these Phaesun panels from SVB for my Mini and mounted them exactly as Hugo illustrated here. One of the panels suffered a burnout between cells after six months use and shortly thereafter the second would only charge intermittently. SVB wouldn't honour the warranty because of the way the panels were mounted. I expected a lot better.

Bien joué jeune homme ( eh oui je suis un vieux ! ), la prochaine fois se sera plus judicieux de faire dépasser le panneau support de 2 ou 3 cm du panneau solaire. Si tu casses un angle du panneau solaire tu perds 10 à 20 % de puissance ... Ce qui n'est pas souhaité ... Mais bravo pour ta débrouillardise, tu vas y arriver c'est sur ! Bon vent !

I would love to have some details about your autopilot. I am on my 7th autiopilot in 18 years . Simrad & Raymarine have all failed. I actually have a an Aeries lift off gear as a fall back but it is very heavy. Good in high winds though.But not as good as your autopilot I suspect

Another thing we pay very close attention to is the cell count. The typical for marine is 36 .Is that your experience ? I've seen you use the mounted versions and point them at the sun after jibe ect. and I like that idea.

I saw two British people on their boat, they have photovoltaic collectors and to save money they put lead batteries. They are now on an island in Indonesia and can only transmit when the sun is peaking above their collectors, regret not putting lithium batteries
