Great subclass and spells choice, considering that Loki is more focused on influence people's minds and create conflicts instead of party suport. A Mask of Many Faces Warlock Eldritch Invocación and Actor feat would be a remarcable combo: Infinite Disguisd Self, +1 CHA, mimic the speech of another person, advantage on Charisma (Deception) and Charisma (Performance) checks when trying to pass yourself off as a different person.

Thanks, I was thinking I was going to get some backlash for growing so Social Skill/spell heavy and not focusing hard enough on combat, but it really fits the character.

Whisper Bard fits Loki SO WELL, I think the only thing he's missing is he does show some pretty good combat chops in Ragnarok, so I think you could either take some rogue levels for sneak attack or fighter levels for that two weapon fighting style.

If I was going to throw in some combat, I would probably grab 2 levels of Warlock, and pass it off as a deal Loki made, but bailed on. Then grab Hexblade, so you can still rely on charisma. Rogue is another solid choice though, it makes sense, since he is pretty sneaky, but I would throw more points into Dex rather than Con if that was the case.

Actually all he needs is one of those ASIs to go for Fighting Initiate (maybe at level 1 with a custom lineage.... Sorry, couldn't resist)

Polymorph would be a solid spell choice to consider for this list. He did turn his brother into a Frog.

I built loki as well for a player and used this bard subclass but also went arcane trickster rogue. Almost the same spell choices though. This was a great video.

I would've gone more Arcane Trickster and maybe Swords Bard or Battle Master. Loki still has considerable ability with weaponry, able to Duke it out with Thor more than once and hold his own at least for a time. He also doesn't use mind control magic so much as illusory magic but to great effect. He's a mentalist who always tries to think around people and manipulate the situation. And he's generally disliked because he's arrogant and a prankster, so charisma doesn't do it in my opinion

Love this build, if you was to add 2 lvl of warlock you could say its the blood pact that made him a blood brother to Thor. As Odin gave Loki some of his blood making him a hybrid he is

I think I would follow this build until lvl 18, I would put two levels into Hexblade because of his daggers and he does have a projectile spell he uses in the Loki show so I would use Eldritch Blast with repelling blast to represent that.

That's a solid alternative, you don't really need the extra Ability Score Improvement, and Superior Inspiration wouldn't help a ton. Plus Warlock at 2 levels is just enough of a dip to make sure you get a lot of bonuses.

Still you love to see a Black Panther build.He would no doubt some levels of artificer,warlock or cleric,But also monk,So artificer(If you're going armorer.) would hard to fit in.

I think a pretty cool build would be Sheriff Bigby Wolf from The Wolf Among Us, maybe an inquisitive/beast multiclass?

Something else that might be good for Loki is potentially Eldritch blast using either magical secrets or maybe multi class to warlock. Loki seems to use his staff a lot, and we have seen him shoot beams from it. I don’t know how a warlock multi class affects the spell slots, but it could be interesting. I know that it doesn’t fit all to well with the pact, but one that I think could fit well may be the great old one. In the avengers, we see Loki speak with Thanos about invading Earth, and Thanos may fit this idea as almost the entire MCU verse (other than a few villains) rarely heard about him until he started his ultimate plan in Infinity War. I can think of a few options for the invocations. We see Loki just make his armor appear on him, so potentially armor of shadows for mage armor. There is also beguiling influence, gaining proficiency in deception and perception, but may not be too good as you did choose these near the beginning. Maybe changing up the proficiencies slightly could allow for this. Agonizing blast could be chooses for more powerful Eldritch blasts, but I don’t think it fits Loki all that well. Eldritch mind can be a good one for Loki keeping concentration, as it has been shown he can be very focused during combat. Mask of many faces to cast disguise self at will, since Loki does that a good amount. Their are potentially other ones that fit, but I think the choices I mentioned can work well for Loki. Edit: another thing I just thought of is that if you decide to stop at level 17 (meaning you still get a level 9 spell) and go for 3 levels in warlock, you could take pact of the blade. Now, despite how it is written, you could transform it into Loki’s staff and say that it is his weapon. Also, this could mean you can go for hexblade to get access to the hex warrior feature for dealing charisma damage. Plus, you do get medium armor, and based on images I have seen with the Tom Hiddleston Loki, he seems to have some type of metal plates under his robes for more protection. Additionally, I think an argument can be made for wrathful smite as we have seen Loki affect people by touching them with his scepter. Plus, Loki’s daggers seem to have a slight magical effect to them, making the smite a choice if it were on the daggers.

Great job on this one. The only changes I would make would be to take two levels of Fighter for Two Weapon Fighting and Action Surge, and swap out the 10th level Bardic Secrets. Instead of Blur, I would take Synaptic Static to affect multiple foes with psychic damage and a fantastic debuff. Otherwise, this was perfection.

Yeah I kind of thought about it a bit more and thought maybe I would include just two levels of warlock and play this off as Loki making a deal and then going back on it. That would give some additional more luck capabilities which could be pretty cool

Thanks, I definitely got a little pushback from some people about the choice of class but I think it was the right call. But looking back I could see taking a couple levels in warlock and then just abandoning the deal which is something Loki would totally do

I think Rogues are better at skills (reliable talent is amazing), and are a solid addition to any combat heavy campaigns. There are optional spells in the expanded spell list, but there's also "Magical Secrets" which allows Bards to take a certain amount of spells from any spell list

Yeah, I hate using Goliath for non-giant characters. Does Loki have giant blood, yep. Is he 7ft tall with grey skin and tribal markings? Nope. Would I use Goliath for a Drax the Destroyer? Yes, but not Loki. That's what custom lineage is for. Mechanically, Goliath doesn't work. I hope this build gets better. Edit: it did. Whisper bard is a good choice since it gives you a way to use your bardic inspiration without buffing someone else.

Also, depending on the depictions, when he is in his more Giant-esque form, he is taller in the animated version. And in other versions he does have those tribal-esque markings.

@@dndbuilds and Thor should have red hair and a beard. Marvel's Loki is depicted as a human looking person. Hey, it's your build, man, but I have trouble reimagining a Goliath as a normal size human with normal skin tone. Unless you are planning to cast disguise self all the time.

Dude no. Just no. Not only was this painstakingly so, u don't just "reallocate" 2 Stat points. SUCH b.s. U didn't have 2 make him a Giant. Coulda made him Celestial just as easy. I admire that you're trying to do what Tulok does, and u r giving us options other than his builds. But keep it real Dude. Otherwise u might as well throw the rules out all together and write him uo however u want! Not 2 bad otherwise. A for effort! That's what I'll say.

I didn't come up with reallocating stats, that came out with Tasha's Cauldron of Everything, and WOTC mentioned it was especially for situations where you may be raised differently than others which seemed pretty spot on

U might as well just have the SAME bonus' for every race if ur going to allow "reallocating." And at that point every race us basically the same. Boring! - Keep up the good work! P.s. DM since 1994. @@rustylocks4596 yeah when they came out with this rule I was kind of torn, like the idea that you could be the odd one out made sense, but it felt too easy. I would have liked it if maybe you could only adjust one score instead of all of them. So I get both sides on this, but it has made building certain characters a bit easier that's for sure
