I've done considerable work with my map road system and you don't need to nest anything. A simple road system transform group that contains the pieces works fine.☺

@@FarmerBoBonKZbin after even more testing...if you make your roads decals, they are react to the same conditions as the terrain underneath. Example: you put a road decal in place it now it terrain deforms just like the grass textures and you leave tracks in asphalt. more research is needed.

You need to paint the infolayer for terrain deformation where ypu dont want terrain deformation. 😊 like on your asphalt roads, parking lots etc.

Ahhh no worries, that is normal because of the road pack now being only a decal. 😊 to sort the problem you need to paint the road using the infolayer paint mode and select terrain deformation and then use the option for no deformation. Then simply paint all your asphalt roads with that. This will stop the vehicles going into ground. 😊

I've just been mucking about with the terrain decal system and it is so much easier. I total game changer. I just wish you could pain terrain textures over the top of the decal. I too am using BulletBills road kit and its a bit difficult to get a texture colour which blends in with the solid edges. In the end I've just covered the edge in grass.

in the video i show how to change it to a decal, then also what i didnt show at the time is to "un tick" the "castshadowmap" option on the shape attributes.

Always ask for permission from the map makers. You can use anything from giants maps.

You supposed to use it as a decal, and i just drop mine on the ground or just below it. As in the video. Also remove the cast shadow optionfrom the road sections.

Great video, followed your tutorial to put some roads into a map im messing about with, but when i load in game the roads are shining white withe the painted white lines all oner the place, any idea why this might be happening? Thanks in advance

yes you need to place the entire section of the road, otherwise the stuff will be left behind.. the lines are in their own TG in the road section, so if you moved the lines they will not be on the roads anymore :)

the road kit have different road sets, some has lines and some dont.. if you dont see any with lines you need to re download the pack.

folder depth yes 5 levels in your map.. its not the game but it is console limitations.. if it wasnt for the consoles the game would have been way different :)

Yes definitely, we are waiting for giants texture converter as well as mod converter in the editor. Once that is in olace we can propperly convert maps.
