How to Build the GREEN RANGER in D&D!

I made a Green Ranger build a while back he was a variant human that multiclassed as an Eldritch Knight/Battlesmith Artificer (Dex over Str w/Int as my primary) I flavored my Steel Defender as a Dragon and used Enlarge/Reduce to make my Defender a large construct when needed. It was tons of fun to play.

personally, I was thinking he might have some warlock in him. he uses a sort of spellcasting when he was evil, a power gifted by Rita Repulsa who is over 10,000 years old. that's also where he gets the longsword from, which he materializes into his hand from nothing. so, warlock - great old one patron - pact of the blade.

I’m really glad to see someone use the banneret despite its lack of power. I’m a firm believer in building for theme and not just for combat strength. Personally, I’m excited to use the banneret with 2024 fighter’s multiple uses of 2nd wind.

I still see the MMPR as Warlocks. They get the power from an outside force (patron), summons power weapons (pact of the blade), the morphing suits are Armor of Shadows, the blasters are Eldritch Blast.

So very cool build! Love to see PR in D&D. I will say though, much like with most PR D&D builds I've seen, would really love to see something to represent the Morphing aspect of Power Rangers. I'd argue it's the most iconic feature and is usually overlooked.

Very Nice RIP JDF. I like the build but I built the Green Ranger a little differently. Starting Stats Str 8, Dex 13(+1) Con 14, Int 8, Wis 13, Cha 15(+1) I know odd numbers are bad. feat Inspiring Leader. Starting Class Fighter your fighting style Unarmed Fighting and second wind. 2nd level Fighter for Action Surge, 3rd Level Monk for Martial Arts 4th Level Warlock ( Hex Blade) to represent when RIta ( his Patron ) forced him to be the Evil Green Ranger 5th level Warlock (2) invocations Armor of Shadows ( Green Ranger outfit + shield protective) Agonizing Blast. 6th Level Warlock (3) pact of the blade beguiling influence invocation ( You won't be having this for long ) 7th Level Warlock (4) ASI +2 Cha 8th Level Warlock (5) Thrusting Blade + Replacing Beguiling Influence for Eldrich Smite. Now we Switch over to Level 9 Bard (1) Performance Prof Bardic Inspiration. 10th Level Bard (2) Jack of all Trades. 11th Level Bard (3) College of Swords ( I know different from college of Creation but there's a different reason why I'm going this route vs the other to be explained later) Blade flourish and fighting style Duelist or 2 weapon either or is fine Tommy have used both the sword and dragon dagger at the same time. 12th Level Bard (4) ASI Max out Cha. 13th level Bard (5) font of Inspiration. 14th Level Bard ( 6) extra attack replace thirsting blade invocation with Improved Pact Weapon . 15th Level Bard (7) nothing but spells. 16th Level Bard (8) ASI tough Feat. 17 level Bard ( 9) Song of Rest ( d8) + our Dragon Zord with the 5th level spell Animate Object ( you can have a size Huge Dragon Zord it Hovers it's ac maybe lower but it have decent HP hits hard for 2d12+4 damage. The Last 3 levels are completely up to you . personally I'd choose 18th level Bard (10) for Magical Secrets Spells of choice Awaken Awake Saba ( white Ranger Sword) Dispel Evil and Good but choose whatever you want for spells. 19th Level Fighter (3) Fighter Archetype Battle Master ( Student of War tools Calligraphy would make him a god ( Lord Drakkon) but go Cartographer ( Dino Thunder when he's an Archeologist) Combat Maneuvers: Rally Cry, Commander's Strike, Riposte. Level 20 Fighter (4) and a ASI Gift of the Metallic Dragon or to lower people's pitch forks Resilience Wis +1 Wis no more odd numbers. Now to answer the question from before why this route over Creation? Well with Creation there's a cap of 20gp on the dragon statue and it can't be bigger than Large. Going the Animated route will get you a Huge Dragon it'll hit harder and you only need to command it once. I went with College of Swords over Creation because otherwise Tommy's AC would be hit me all day, with the Defensive Flourishes, shield spell, and GIfts of the Metallic Dragon and his Armor of Shadows Tommy AC is base 15 +other flourishes. and other defenses. damages either 3 unarmed attacks ( 5 with action Surge) 1 commander strike + riposes, or you can use your dragon dagger 1d4+6+6(prof hex blade curse)+1d6 hex with a 19-20 crit chance + 4d8 eldritch smite. Now why only 1 level of Monk it's so the Unarmed Fighting Style can be Dex instead of Strength. If you don't care about the martial arts then replace the monk level with Bard and get a 6th level spall slot. I hope you appreciate my take on the Green Ranger. it really was a fun build.
