I see the Rangers being more of a Warlock based build. Power comes from a patron, pact of the blade to summon a power weapon, summon Armor of Shadows to "morph".

I was fully thinking this same thing. Maybe start level 1 with Monk, then move into Warlock for at least a few levels. Eldritch Blast could be fluffed as the blasters, then pact weapon plus Mask of Many Faces to "morph" into the suit. From there, build as you prefer.

Yeah, and if you use the Undying patron the characters even age slower, so you can cast people in their twenties to play teens.

I now want to run a one shot of 5 level 20 Power Rangers and make Megazord mechanics like: - Multiple HP thresholds where the Rangers are ejected from the Zords - Skill checks from all players to perform actions with the Megazord - A gauge that has to be filled to do the final attack or maybe another different skill challenge

I didn't really consider that, while you could do something like Tenser's Transformation, that just doesn't work so well with this build

@@dndbuilds It's certainly a difficult aspect to adapt. If I had to pick SOMETHING, I kind of like Circle of Stars, I feel like their Wild Shapes feel like morphs. And like ya said, Polymorph, or heck Shapechange, could be good for Zords.

As a DM this is how I'd Set it up. Legendary Talisman: MIGHTY MORPHER! Uses: Up to 3x/day recharge after a long rest Description: IT'S MORPHIN' TIME! This item allows the holder (when attuned) to take on the form of a Teenager With Attitude! Ability Increase: AC +2, Temporary Health Increase of 2.5 to 3x your Dex + Wisdom modifier. (2.5 below level 10, 3x past level 10) Weapon summon: 2x/day, you gain the ability to summon an Attuned Weapon of your choice (based off ranger) with a legendary attack. example Legendary Atk: Power Sword Strike! Opponent must make a Strength saving throw (at disadvantage if below 10% health) on failed save, opponent takes 6d6 Lightning/Force damage, and half as much on a failed save. If the Ranger Crits, the Opponent takes 3 times the calculated damage. Legendary Summon: Creature/Vehicle Zord. (Base this off the Creature/vehicle you wish to replicate off 5e.

Love this build. My favorite series of Rangers have to be either Time Force or Wild Force. Though if we're counting Super Sentai, I'd have to say my favorite there would be Gokaiger. As far as an idea for a future vid, have you considered doing Captain Titus (Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 1 and 2)? Be kinda cool to get an Astartes build.

You should do a zenitsu build with nine levels in wizard bladesinger nine levels in rogue scout and two levels in sorcerer draconic blood line with a feat for meta magic initiate it’s an amazing build and I want to see you make a video on it

i could also see the monk, then maybe into artificer (more cannonical for the blue ranger since he got the brains) and the artificer armorer could be considered the megazord/zord or your power ranger suit when some of the rangers get their armor for the extra power in combat

So I assume that they were given an artifact crossbow which was split up into parts long ago, and the weapons the PR wield can be combined into the artifact once per day for an unerring powerful blast consisting of different rays of elemental / radiant/necrotic energy? Also, is Alpha an Artificer Warforged? How do we explain the merge into the Thundermegazord? Is this a special form of Shape change? Another artifact power? A feature from the Morph accessories? So many questions!

I'm about to play a non-human Power Ranger in a 5e game, and I'm not taking a single level of Monk or Druid, nor did it ever cross my mind to. To be fair, I'm mostly skipping out on the mega zords and focusing more on the sword and gun combat that became more common with later rangers (martial arts are wicked and totally iconic for the Power Rangers, just a severe and borderline unnecessary hurdle if you don't specifically want Fighter or Monk levels). Instead, I've been toying with two builds. The ultimate Power Sword build, which starts with an even mix of Hexblade Warlock and Paladin levels, or the ultimate Tech Armor build, which is purely Artificer, though I have been bouncing back and forth as to whether or not I want Armorer or Battle Smith, but I'm settling on Armorer I believe. The first build represents the idea that the Power Rangers always get their power from "the grid" but are also usually chosen for their convictions (thus a pact and an oath), while the second build plays into the idea that the rangers often have at least one person, sometimes a ranger themselves, who is constantly trying to upgrade their tech or build them new tech to use in the field, include transforming "Power Armors" that go beyond the typical spandex. Part of the reason I'm going non-human is that I'm not emulating a specific ranger, but rather the idea behind the rangers. This character is "a" power ranger, not one of "the" power rangers. And in a fantasy setting like D&D it would be prejudice to assume that all rangers were human. So I am making this one a Thri-Kreen, basically a bug man. The best part is that they have a decent natural armor that I can reflavor as his normal ranger suit, so that the Armorer's Guardian/Stealth armors can be used as his advanced Power Armor. And all of the Artificer spells are already flavored as magical gadgets anyway, so it's really easy to justify almost any spell as being my character's ranger gear. Again, no zords, but I suppose as long as I'm not fighting a kaiju I don't really need one (and as part of the backstory, my ranger isn't from the world the game takes place on, he was chasing an enemy through a portal and it closed behind him leaving him stranded here, but this world is off the "grid" in terms of accessing his ranger powers, so he's using his own technical skills to bring the grid online little by little, restoring his powers over the course of the campaign, so the lack of zords is written in). Little sidebar for fun, but he's also not technically going to be a "Power Ranger," because I'm really playing loose with the whole ranger lore anyway, so this universe's equivalent are called "Grid Riders," and for the majority of them they function like SPD, where the rangers are part of a larger galactic police force of sorts, there's a full academy of cadets that are rangers in training, there are multiple squads across the universe, as well as "alpha and beta" squads in sectors that need the extra help, etc. So my character getting stranded outside of the grid would be something of immediate note to his superiors, though finding him outside of the grid would be complicated for them. And even if they find him, reaching him without grid-based magic would be complex until he can get his own systems up and running to allow a more direct link back to base. He could theoretically learn the magic himself or request assistance from local casters, but he knows his enemy is still on this planet and has no intention of giving him time to reach his goals.

Yeah that's why I mentioned at the beginning that it would mostly be focused on the original Mighty Morphin version, but we do cover the cars by having access to land vehicles, and you can just be giant by having the spell enlarge reduce which is one of the spells I added to their spell list on their character sheet on Patreon. But I do have a full blown mech build planned for the future which is definitely going to be a bit different
