I accidentally created a Mando build in one campaign! It was as the second season was being released. Started out as a gloomstalker ranger, and i wanted to prove a point to one of the other players that the crafting rules in 5e are severely under utilized, so I multiclassed into artificer armorer. As the episodes came out I slowly transitioned the character to be more and more Mandalorian in terms of gadgets and impenetrable defenses. By the end of that campaign: it was Ranger 3, Artificer 12, and wizard 1 (to abuse crafting and spell scroll usage). Made sure to pick up Heavy Armor Master. And plate armor with enhanced defense to boot. That combined with Guardian Armor’s temp hp buffer really made being in the thick of combat feel epic. Armorer artificer comes built in with magic missile for Mando’s birds. I simply asked if I could craft a wrist mounted flamethrower that activates as a replacement for one attack. Does the same damage as burning hands. Except the cost is that it needs to be reloaded by the burning hands spell scrolls. And last but not least the rising phoenix in the winged boots infusion. Night encounters were a nightmare for enemies mixing in those early gloomstalker levels. A flying, invisible menace, sharpshooting every attack at advantage with archery and enhanced weapon infusions.

Great build. Plus Artificer has Thorn Whip cantrip; a great addition for the firts leves arsenal to pull your enemies wih a verbal Component: Get over Here (Scorpion Style)

I created a version for a game that was supposed to go form lvl 2 to around lvl 7 or so (in a setting without guns) I picked V human with crossbow expert (I was going for a long range sniper for distance and a 2 hand crossbow for close range) started as a 1 lvl war cleric and 1 lv ranger (this was very important for the theme of the build imo) sadly never got to play for other reasons, but I'm waiting for the chance, never though about artificer tho, nice vid

I enjoy your channel a lot. Its gotten me back into DnD a little bit after years away from it. But this is the first build you've done that I completely disagree with. I think it makes more sense to start with Monk (Way of the Kensei) or Cleric (War Domain) to represent the religious commitment he has to the Way of the Mandlore -- "this is the way", "weapons are part of my religion", never remove your helmet, etc etc. From there, multiclass into Ranger and perhaps a little bit of Rogue to lean into his ranged combat, tracking skills, and knowledge of the criminal underworld. I think spending levels on Artificer is not really character consistent (Mando is generally more of a user of tech than a fashioner of it -- he has the Armorer and other characters for that) and focusing so much on Fighter -- while it does cover the actions you see in the show -- is sort of inspecific for the character.

My one gripe with this video is that he never went over the armor. Every mandolin worth their salt is NEVER without their armor.

Solid point, but considering our stats were mostly going to be sticking to medium armor either way. And I was tempted to even go with an armorer artifice subclass, but I just like the blaster.

@@dndbuilds: Far point, if you Were going to get stuck with medium armor either way then I guess it's fine. Btw what is The Strongest/Toughest material you can make into armor in D&D? I'm actually curious.
