I don't know if Coach Reid can scheme a way out of that defense with his less-than-spectacular offensive line, especially with Mahomes suffering the high ankle sprain just 3 weeks ago. Those don't heal like other sprains, especially if you keep playing on it like he has been. But if anyone can possibly overcome it, Reid and Mahomes can. Maybe. This is a fascinating match up!

Fields will wear out like an RB if he's forced to play like one _and_ also be QB all game. He's *already showing* signs of wear. I'd suggest that the Bears should trade that #1 pick for several picks &... the problem is that the Bears simply draft terribly, every year. Some teams are just like that. The Broncos for instance seem to do extremely well at that, trades & free agent signings - until this past year, despite having incompetent people throughout the organization. It's hard to tell if it's a luck thing. Anyhow, there's little point _having_ a Justin Fields on a team that can't carry even _some_ of the load. They're not likely to trade _him,_ but it's also highly unlikely that they can draft an *entire o-line,* an RB & a receiver of any quality with just one pick. Maybe Lovie Smith can help them again ...? 🤭 Seriously, _that man_ has *some* luck.

I am a biased 49ers fan, but I feel that the Eagles have a loaded defensive line but an exploitable LB core and secondary. Their #1 pass defense is because they have 9 players on that defensive line who could start anywhere in the NFL. Kyle Shanahan schemed up wide open targets for Brock and Josh. Brock went 2 for 2 for 9 and 10 yards and Aiyuk was open for a possible TD when he was hurt. Then when Josh Johnson came out, he was blind to the wide open targets the TV broadcast was showing. Andy Reed and Mahomes are going to *gut* that defense, especially with the improvements and maturity Mahomes has shown.

Eagles are rated number 1 in passing yards allowed, net yards per attempt, and average yards per attempt. Slay, Bradberry, and Maddox are highly rated in coverage, and CJGJ is tied for first in INTs despite missing 5 weeks. They’re no joke.

The secondary doesn't have to cover for very long because of the pressure rather than the defensive line getting sacks/hits because of great coverage. When the Eagles faced competent offensive teams, they gave up a lot of points. We will see in an hour.

I love your film breakdown. I do think we need to remember that Dak and Daniel Jones aren't the greatest at presnap reads. For example, at 7:35 Dak is looking away from the pressure he is expecting to come. He should instead be looking at that pressure side because more than likely his receiver over there will be open. If the Eagles dial up a blitz like that against the Chiefs, Mahomes will feast on them. He is great at sensing that pressure, and he has players like Kelce who know how to sit down in the vacant hole the defender is leaving. Dak isn't the greatest at presnap reads or sensing pressure. That's a nightmare when you are facing a defensive scheme like the Eagles use. Edit: Shortly after you show clips of Carr and whichever Commanders QB was in. They sat in the pocket way too long. If you do that against Mahomes, he will scramble. His receivers are also good at improvising on their routes to find the open spot. Those type of coverage sacks only work vs mediocre or worse QBs. Edit: Last edit, but the Eagles haven't really had to face a good QB this year. Rodgers was still figuring stuff out with his young receivers, for example. Trevor Lawrence was still going through growing pains (literally after that Eagles game they lost like 5 or 6 straight). They haven't been tested at all. We also need to remember four of the top five defenses in terms of points allowed were in the AFC. The 49ers and Commanders were the only defenses they really faced. The Commanders won one of those games. The 49ers were playing without a QB really for most of the game. That means the Eagles offense was very fortunate offensively as well. If the 49ers don't lose Purdy, the Eagles may have to play from behind. That means they can't just keep trying out runs until they find one that works. That means they'd have to pass more, which Hurts accuracy was questionable that day. Not downplaying the Eagles by any means. They are a heck of a team. Just pointing out how rose tinted glasses make the Eagles seem more elite than they might really be.

Pressures are just as good if not better vs Mahomes. Watch Lou Anarumo's coach up the Bengals D in Chiefs matchups and he tries to get Mahomes to hold onto the ball longer by just trying to pressure with 3 or 4 up front. Especially if Mahomes can't try get the ball to his receivers on a small window. And he has to settle with a first down on his feet with a defender playing spy on him.
