The Eagles (were) using AJ Brown completely wrong.

The Eagles didn’t reach the peak of their powers until they made one, simple adjustment on offense, and it sent them to the super bowl. By deploying AJ Brown differently than they had through the first 6 weeks of the season, their offense took off, and so did their super bowl chances. What was the change and why was it so important? This week’s episode uses the all-22 coaches film to analyze the 2022 Philadelphia Eagles offense.

What are some super unique traits that you think would make a great episode? Similar to the Lane Johnson episode, who has unique technique that needs a closer look?

You could do a video going over how quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers manage to commit so few turnovers, and on the other side people like Deshone Kizer (random) managed to turn the ball over every other down. You could also take a look at Alex Smiths career progression and focus on how he went from one of the most turnover prone to one of the least.

What an interesting look back into AJ Brown's progress. Considering the Eagles were undefeated within those first 6 weeks with Jalen Hurts having a hot start (with MVP talks coming his way). But in the 2nd half of the season things simmered down and AJ after the bye week got on his path to become a more complete receiver that the Eagles traded for. Which also made things easy for Hurts since his go-ball throws are one of his consistent skillset besides keeping the ball and running like a RB.

It's going to come down to the offense playing well and Miami being able to punish Hurts mistakes. Hurts makes several mistakes every game. If Miami can punish them (like KC did) then Miami can definitely win. If Miami doesn't, then they will lose. You can't stop Philly's offense, only they can stop themselves. As for the opposite side of the ball, just gotta go out there and score every chance you can.

I mean the 'blueprint' to slow down the Fins turbo pass attack showed itself late in the 2nd half of last year. If the Eagles can aggressively press on Tyreek and Waddle, it comes down to Tua (or whoever the QB is) to move to plan B to keep the ball moving. And that Fins running game better show a bit of itself since the Eagles have no problem with theirs if the opposing defense takes a man out of the box.

Even though brown was good on the Titans The Titans never really stricked true fear VS any other teams. Even when they were the 1st seed 2 seasons ago nobody took the Titans serious. I think it's because ultimately we knew Henry was the main cog of the offense But ultimately a RB can't carry a team to championship. That's the truth But best of luck this year
@chopsnz88
@chopsnz88 Жыл бұрын
J-Rob traded away there only true WR1 instead of keeping and getting another WR in the draft. Titans offense went off a cliff since AJ left for Eagles. Glad for AJ though he had a chance at a Super Bowl and Eagles fans are fortunate to have him on the roster. Enjoyed watching him become a deep threat and great way to open up short and intermediate routes by respecting the deep ball
@t4d0W
@t4d0W Жыл бұрын
True. But would the Titans be able to pay him AND keep him performing at big heights in the long run? Part of why AJ added another element to his game is because he has Hurts who who can throw those 9-balls downfield. Tannehill was never going to have that consistently especially as he got older and Vrabel leans heavily on his more traditional run game with Henry. Eagles are just more dynamic because they have the trench talents that can amplify the run game when they have the advantage along with the ability to get passes in the middle AND basic deep balls with 989 routes for a pass game.

This video is full of false narratives. The idea that the Eagles didn’t know how to use AJ Brown until week 8 of the regular season is completely false. He had 150 receiving yards in the first game! And the idea that AJ Brown was more of a deep threat and not the same target over the middle like he was in Tennessee is just not true. The slant to AJ Brown was the most reliable passing play in the Eagles playbook. Also nice job with the misleading stat that cuts off after week 6 without providing any context as to why his numbers were worse. Did you want him to somehow put up better numbers in week 2 when the Eagles beat the breaks off of the Vikings? Or in week 3 when Devonta Smith was clearly having his best career performance? Or in week 4 when the Eagles were literally playing in the pouring rain? The only game where he didn’t show up throughout weeks 1-6 was the Cardinals game. Stop trying to force narratives that simply aren’t true.

The thing is, AJ Brown is truly elite in every aspect as a wr. He can do it all and what you are saying isn't exactly true... steadily throughout the season AJ Vaught plenty of short passes and quick in cuts. You must not understand football because you can't see the difference in eagles and titans offense... eagles have way more weapons and more importantly way more weapons in the intermediate game. Again back to the point AJ is truly elite in every phase. Speed, route running, route running adjustments at any phase in the route tree, size and physicality,, YAC,, get off,, 50/50 balls. You cannot be serious. They had too many weapons to try and just change completely what AJ does... every week he did it all. The steelers game only had those huge deep balls because the steelers had key injuries on their D line and Jalen literally had all day to throw... AJ adjustments on the end of those routes was top tier best in the NFL. You gotta look at the whole game more and not just numbers,, look at what team they are playing,, look at what Devonta smith was doing... look at what Dallas Goedert was doing. You expect the eagles to have 4 weapons all play the intermediate game??! No ya goofball... go back and try again. Every game tells a different story and has different reasons for what played out

Jimmy had a 10pt lead in the 4th Qtr of the SB and NFCC 2x in 3 years … The same QB for 26M less to put into the team gets them over the hump.

Imagine what type of bullshit second tier coverage teams would be putting on AJ Brown if the Eagles had Deandre Hopkins to put on the field as a slot receiver?

Hellll naw boy at 5:00 was a PICK that sorry ass CB watched Vroen the whole time and AJ was double covered when Hurts threw that. If they would’ve tracked the ball it was a EASY INT😂
