Dome windows would have been better to install. This way you don't get melted snow or condensation build up on your window. The rain and snow will run off causing no water issues.

A beautiful place you built there. Really, incredible. The best dugout I have seen so far on KZbin. Made with so much though and love for detail. Functional and beautiful. Also, all the animals you managed to capture on camera (love the weazle which makes acrobatics to get the piece of food hanging from the branch. Really cool). Upvote. Just one thing: All this plastic will lie in this forest for centuries to come and it will over time be shredded into microplastics... Aren't there like "traditional" ways of creating a drainage? Except that: Beautiful place!

That’s pretty hard on a chainsaw to crank it and start cutting immediately. I found out the hard way went through two chainsaws in basically two years. Always good to let the idle for a minute or two to allow the cylinder to warm up and expand before cranking hard on it. Without that warm up period the cylinder walls get scored and worm way faster than they need to. Hope that’s helpful

The fact is our world is headed for a collapse. Most people are walking around with blinders on and no matter how bad it gets there going to wake up and life as we know it wil be over. I have been planning and preparing for years. I built a concrete and rebar underground shelter big enough for 5. I bought a us surplus generator plus wind and solar me and my wife garden and can and we have a plentiful chicken coop that produces a plentiful egg store. The main think to take from your video is to plan for the worst and pray for the best. I enjoy your hard work and video of your building.

You sound very well prepared. But beware, that very nice shelter would become someone else's shelter quickly if you don't have enough protection. What if 4 or 5 men come upon your place while you are gardening or tending to your chickens? Personal security is the biggest issue after the Collapse you are preparing for. Because in that scenario there won't be any police deterrent. Guys with guns = the new law. If you are not prepared to deal with invaders, all you've done is to build a great shelter for other people. Remember, if you fort up, you can easily be burned out or smoked out. The only way to be relatively safe is if your shelter is almost totally hidden, so that people passing by won't even know you have that house hidden underground.

Very nice! After the nuclear bombs explode, and everywhere you have rampaging hordes who want to rob you of your stored up supplies, a super low profile shelter like this would be just the thing. A few hours of preparation and this place would be completely invisible. They can't rob or kill you if they can't find your hideout.
