Yes! I assembled their XL crate alone…took 5 hours of tears. Dylan should have came and helped…but instead he used the smallest model to demonstrate building it to make it look easy…

TIP: if you are assembling a large crate alone, use painters tape to hold the bolts for you while tighten the nuts.

Definitely a must!! No way to reach inside to screw nut on without popping lots of bolts back out without two people or this type of tip. They should include this in their instructions.

I agree. I love alone and have dexterity issues with my hands. This is gonna be a pain in the arse to find someone to be a 2nd set of hands that can crawl inside ... Love the collapsible one I've been using, just needed a bigger one, Archer got a lot bigger than anticipated. I'll love this one I just dunno how I'll get it assembled without help

Yes it was quite a chore to assemble, and I do restomod cars for fun. Definitely a two man job or it takes all afternoon to complete. Since you’re going with flat shipping, which makes business sense, perhaps a design upgrade to make assembly more efficient is in order. FANTASTIC dog crate though. My GSD is finally baffled as to how to escape. Victory!!!!

Lots of complaints on here but i just have to say i bought a high anxiety crate for one of my dogs in August. I built it by myself for the most part i used tape when i had to tighten things or i had my 5 year old hold the nut while I tightened the bolt. It was so good that when my other dog bent his wire crate a little bit I bought a regular crate from impact. He gives up pretty quick after realizing how hard he'll have to work to get out, my other dog doesn't. Either way I don't mind spending an afternoon building something that will keep my dogs safe and secure. Im also the kind of gal who loves to tinker with cars, home improvement and other tasks most people don't find fun...

Just bought, it’s pretty ridiculous how much of a pain setting this up is. Also I had to abandon trying to get a screw in because it simply didn’t line up. The manufacturing falls short for a $1,000 crate. I hope it does what I need.

fantastic crate. A total beast to put together. Did the tape thing early on. If you do that you can do it by yourself but put aside a whole half day at least. I agree it is way too hard to put together especially for the larger crates. I am above 50 y/o and crawled inside the crate to tighten bolts with my partner on the outside. Quality metal and hardware. Bolts and lock nuts too small.

If you have to take apart the front piece like I had to do, remove the lock tight cause I had to drill the screws out and almost had to retap the threads cause I wasn’t thinking about when we moved. It was a pain to get a door and new screws from the company. I had to take my dog everywhere for a month when it was expose to be a dinner date with the Mrs.

Building this was no big deal, if you have built any store bought furniture this is way easier. If you are building it alone you can use some painters tape to hold some of the screws. I took my time and it took me just over an hour for a 40" stationary.

This is shared in the instructional video and we have an "Expert Assembly" option when you are adding the crate to your cart. The Collapsible dog not have a Dog Damage Warranty like the High Anxiety model.

I have ordered 2 kennels in the past, and both of which came pre-assembled. I just placed an order for 4 more... wish the website was more clear on this. For the price, you would think it would arrive pre-assembled like it used to. Either way, after taking the time to put them together I'm sure I will have good kennels that will last a lifetime.

Thank you for your continued support and feedback! We did make this change for an overall better customer experience. Prior they would ship LTL Freight so they would take on average twice as long to receive. Not only that though LTL Freight is very rough on packages so we were seeing far to high of damages. Since making this change in February of 2023 we have noticed delivery times increase dramatically as well as the damaged rates going down!

@@ImpactDogCrates Bah humbug. YOu did it to cut costs. I did see complaints about how long it took to get crates. For your info, my crate was mis shiped via ups when it was specified FedEx. It was rejected by FedEx when ups tried to deliver it. It floated around in WY for several days. I had called customer service and if they could not intercept the crate they would cancel the order. I let my bank know to challenge the charge to my account which they did. That day I went looking for the crate in 3 seperate ups locations and found it. It was delivered BY ME. I think your shipping it problematic at best. The crate is fantastic. Get it together people. Its problems like this that stunt or kill good business models. I would suggest only orders through Amazon and let them sort out shipping.

Seems as though my 40" wide and tall is missing some threaded inserts in the top of the front panel. Or some holes in the double walled front panel should have been made for the lock nuts. Or the double wall should be redesigned

I think mine is missing at least one of the threaded holes and the clips are too short to clip in. They don’t reach the hooks to fasten them. What did you end up doing for your issue?

We're complaining because we didn't get what we paid for making it very frustrating to assemble and concerned now for our dogs safety. Both the written and video instruction and the labels in the bags indicate 1 set of bolts/screws should be longer... 3/8 vs 1/2. All the ones we received are only 3/8. So where the longer ones are needed we can't fit the washers on. So we're concerned the acorn nuts will work loose in those spots and drop for the dog to possibly ingest. We've let the company know, but no reply from them. They've got our money and we live where it costs over $200.00 to return it. All we want are the promised longer bolts/screws.

We appreciate your feedback however shipping these flat is better than the alternative. If we ship these fully assembled they are required to go on a pallet with LTL Freight. This would add $300-$500 to the price point, take twice as long to ship, and you would have virtually no tracking capabilities on when it would arrive to you. We have actually done this in the past and unfortunately the customer experience is very poor in comparison. Are y’all okay? I did this in an hour, alone. It’s really not that bad if you’ve assembled things before. Use tape on the outside of the bolts to keep them in place while you tighten, and you won’t need a second person. Don’t be afraid to rotate the crate to make certain points more accessible, just always fasten things in the proper order and be careful when moving it. Don’t tunnel vision on the steps and make sure you actually understand what you’re doing before popping in pieces you’ll be confused about later.

Not quite the same on stationary. Maybe it's because the one I'm putting together is larger, but step 6, the bottom corner go s right through, no threaded hole. Other than that, completely doable with tape by ones self and anyone complaining about having to do a few simple steps and place some pieces together are ridiculous. It was insanely simple

I received a stationary crate. Instructions are not the same, as stated in this video. I have two bars that appear to go on the outside (sides) of crate. No mention of these in the video or paper instructions. Seems self explanatory, but not there yet. My bigger issue is that there are no threads on the front door panel for the corners. On the top corners, there is a hole for the bolt + acorn nut, but the hole is not accessible from the inside. So do we just not put a bolt in? Kind of sucks for the front gate where the dog is most likely to try to get out. I guess that's what these other bars are meant to prevent.

We are actively making this switch. Unfortunately shipping them fully assembled requires them to be on a pallet and ship with LTL Freight. We have tried for numerous years to find an LTL Freight company that can move our products fast and provide a great customer experience. We have come to the realization though this is not possible, any LTL company is going to take twice as long to deliver a package and not to mention they have little to no way to actually track it either. With us shipping these flat we are able to utilize standard ground methods like UPS or FedEx. This will get the product to you much faster and it will over all be a better experience for the end customer.

I decided to look at video instructions because there was no way the stacking corner impact logo and words would be installed upside down at all four bottom corners….. and apparently that’s how they show it in the video. That has to be a flaw, looks like a flaw, or that I “built it incorrectly myself”…. And will make anyone OCD.

Lol the top and back plate of mine doesn’t have any of the mounting holes bored into it. After I sent in pictures, they claimed it shouldn’t compromise the integrity of the crate. Like I literally can’t screw them together but they somehow think it should work.

I bought the 40+ high anxiety crate. Lots of work, no PDF instructions, you have to look for the video. I dont get it they could print two sheets of paper and put it inside the box... for the price thats the least they could do. Now to put the divider in place is impossible, again no instructions.. The holes in the divider dont much the cage's holes. Good product but will no recommend to my friends.. What should i do now?

Far too much work for the price. May as well charge less and fully assembled. I would be curious to see what your GP is on this as the instructions are insanely long and not worth the average dog owners time. I'm fact, there are flat steel crates for only $200 that can be assembled in less than 9mins in comparison to this.

lol silly impact dog crates you used sly naughty language in your video. I see you lol. I will say my experience was poor. I ordered my crate and waited a month. Which isn’t a big deal. Had they called me the 7 separate times I emailed than to have them hold my shipment until I had received my new military orders. So I got to fly from Florida back to Oklahoma, pick it up then drive back to Florida. Just kind of annoying thankfully the flight was free with miles. But for the price to outright ignore a customer who tried to reach felt kind of unusual.
