It took me Over ten years of Trading, constantly losing money to realise ( then the aha moment came) that my Trading NEEDED a systematic approach. It's so Obvious, if we want to trade a profitable way, we need to beable to DUPLICATE the winning Strategy. My system is NOW Fixed like a post in Concrete. Unmovable! Great video my friend

You are teaching what no one is teaching. This is by far the most important video I watch about trading. This teaching is applicable to all kind of business. In my profession as a photographer, I have a fixed system that I followed. It's so simple that a complete newbie can follow and replicate my work almost exactly. An this is key that will help a newbie to be discipline. I love this video. Without it a newbie will be confused.

The best video and probably the only video out there that actually correctly explains what a trading system really is. If your're serious about trading do not take this information for granted. People pay thousands for this type of education.

This video clip should be in the introduction of every trading education dvd or book out there. There are many educators out there that emphasise on strategy but very few clearly differentiate systems from strategies and how to make them work together. You can also apply the same concepts with your trading psychology, trade journaling and even life in general (eg. finances, daily/weekly routine, fitness program & etc)
@markyen96266 жыл бұрын
Great video!!! This clip will weed out all the lazy/new market participants who are considering taking on trading as a new business, job, hobby, sport & etc. In fact it will make lazy people and people who think trading is easy think twice about how much work "behind the scenes" is required to become consistently profitable!!!

The distinction between systems and strategies is articulated very clearly here. I think it would be really interesting to see examples of thoroughly developed systems. You alluded to the likelihood of having a much more deeply layered system than the generic version presented in the diagram. I'd be really interested to know what it looks like for you when its fully filled out. I'm brand new to this and am going to just watch a bunch of videos for awhile until I feel like I have a good map of all the steps and stages of developing a quality plan. I'll start paper trading at some point and try to figure out all the layers of rhythms and discrete action steps I need to attend to. I think it'll also be smart to build up a bunch of binary selections for strategy-variants in each of the steps, so I understand what I'm testing for and have distinct options for alternate methods. Another video said to document all trades that are made - I'm thinking that getting deep into the details of the steps (maybe sub-steps... sub-sub-steps, etc... deeply categorical) so they can be precisely refined and tested for efficacy.

Hello, I'd like to share my feedback (my opinion how I perceive your and especially this video) with you. You speak quite too much but I rather prefer this way because you really speak about the same thing even 2-4 times but each time from a little different angle with a little different words which really helps me to understand the topic without difficult searching additional information somewhere else. I really appreciate that you talk about how it is let's say in a real life for example you're not saying only to take an exercise but you encourage to do it properly to invest a time into it and also some suggestion about needed time amount. You summarize (at least partially) and emphasize what is most critical to do and I perceive that you point out to have realistic view (not optimistic not negative, just to really think about everything how it is). I really like your overall approach to explain things. I also like the way how you explain it, e.g. the kind of respectful voice. You are showing that you understand that it's very possible that there's too much information for us and for me, it seems that you really went through all of these struggles and it's great that you try to push us closer to more effective way. Thank you so much, in my opinion your explanation of trading (overall) is one of the best I found in youtube. I hope also this feedback help you at least a little bit to share even better videos with us. Take care. Peter

In order to be a consistently profitable trader, you must have these three elements all in alignment : 1-) System This is what’s being described in this video . 2-) State ( Your State Of Mind That Is ) If you are in a pissed off , angry , furious state , you won’t perform well .. 3-) Tools ( Your computer , your screens , the speed of your Internet connection. , your back-up Internet, your platform , ext .. In terms of percentages , how big of a role each plays , here they are : System 15 % State 80 % Tools 5 % Trading is a game of psychology guys .. Emotional resilience should be your main goal .. Only the toughest psychology wins in this game combined with experience .. You can have the best system in place , the best tools ever , but if you don’t manage your stage EVERY single day when you come to the trading desk and master emotional resilience when trades start going against you , you will always lose ...

Can you speak more in depth about written "trading plans" as opposed to strategy; money management, quantifying personal strengths and weaknesses, and paying yourself. Do you use a flow chart of your trading plan? If so can you speak about the process of building something robust?

A system is a group of interacting or interrelated entities that form a unified whole (like a solar system, human body, society, network e.t.c). So, what did you described looks more like a strategy to me. What do you put as a strategy, looks more like a tactics to me.

Many procedures, which have different steps as a part of each procedure, and all the procedures are part of a system. These deserve a Quality Standard ISO:9001. Good idea. I will be myself the customer of my own product. Being systematic we can find our successes and failures. This is kind of Operative System (the black box), associated with efficiency. The input is money, time, talent, etc the out put is money capitalized vs time. The Strategy System is why, when, where, etc. Associated with effectiveness. Your point is brilliant, we have to see this as a business and all its complexities. If we get around a 20% of annual profit after taxis, we are good.
