That word "Consistency" is huge. Very good stuff Lebe.

I agree that there is a tolerable margin with form. A qualified physio even concurred this with me after i got injured. Not all our bodies can and probably will never get into certain "exact" form positions. I tore my quad on my back leg on the downward lunge of the TGU. I had perfect form and a good warmup and i also felt srrong and in control of the movement. When I revisted the TGU after recovering, I discovered that the "perfect placement" of my front leg somehow was creating tension and soreness in the area that got damaged. All it took was moving my lead leg or my back leg away to the side by just about 3 inches and the tension was relieved. I think we need to stay close to form, but also go by feel too.

I enjoyed the Shadow Realm. Have you ever adapted Dan John's 'The Drill' workout? It's a barbell power snatch, overhead squat, hang deadlift, squat snatch, overhead squat, power snatch, overhead squat 5-8 cycles.

I have done exactly those three things and have lost 17kg (35lbs) over the past year while enjoying every step of the way. 1. Move more: I set up a program for myself based off the Simple & Sinister that gradually expanded over time as I got in better shape. Workouts left me energized, not drained. I also tried to walk a lot (1.5 - 2 hrs) on recovery days. 2. Eat less: I finally found success by strictly measuring everything I ate. I am comfortable eating mostly the same foods, so that helps. Weekly weigh-in for accountability and adjustment. Consistently lost 0.5 - 0.7 kg / week while gaining muscle. 3. Consistency: No snacks ever. Homemade pizza in modest portion was my one concession on Saturdays. Never miss a workout. Quitting alcohol was also a game changer. That's it.

Step #3 is especially important. I find a lot of people emphasize the #1 and #2 points, but I find that I can never get results without following #3!

I don’t have a problem setting aside time to work out. For me it’s Monday Wednesday and Friday first thing in the morning. Diet is a challenge. I’m a commercial truck driver so I’ll eat breakfast at home and then I’m on the road till late afternoon/early evening. I have a lunchbox with some yogurt, water, and cheese sticks and an apple. And I’ll have a burger for lunch. I try not to eat after I get home.

I'm 64 and have only been using KBs since the pandemic days of lockdown and find this to be the best form of excercise ever ! I'm told its best to do it barefoot - what do you think ?
@lebe-stark10 ай бұрын
Barefoot or shoes with a flat sole work great.
@utubepunk7 ай бұрын
I do barefoot as well. Like Gregory mentioned, if you have to wear shoes, flat soled and I'll add to that, wide toebox so your toes can spread out.

i have a question no one really seems to give a direct answer when using kettlebells for fat loss purposes, (not to gain strength or size) even though they will to a degree. What is the ideal rep range to use with kettlebells for losing body fat.
