Yeah but you also need the needle from Malenias questline! Not saying it's impossible or too much but pretty sure in order to reverse the frenzied flame you have to use the needle and if memory serves correctly it's the needle you can use in Malenias Aeonia/Scarlet Rot Bloom to gain a Ancient stone (can't remember if it's somber or regular though!)

@@SSNebula after helping millicent in her quest, you get the golden needle and kill malenia, and in the bloom you give the needle and get back ancient dragon somber stone and Miquella 's needle. We use that needle in Placidusax Arena to surpress the frenzied flame.

Apparently there is a way to purge out the frenzied flame and unlock the other endings. You do this by using Miquella's needle in the Faram Azula boss arena after doing Millicent's quest line. I wonder, can you inherit the frenzied flame, burn the tree, _then_ get rid of the flame to unlock the other endings? In this case, Melina would be alive _and_ won't hate you because you are no longer a lord of chaos.

I think you can but Melina won't return to you and she/the game never acknowledges that you went through all that trouble to save her/shed the the Frenzied Flame. Which is a real shame imo.

Idk if anyone else has found this but I went to the crumbling datum azula through a portal at the four belfries and killed malekith and after I killed him there was a cut scene and the tree was burning I haven’t defeated the final boss yet but Gideon the all knowing betrayed me and I’m currently fighting him and I also went to check if Melina it’s still alive and she is at the forge of the giants still so she’s ALIVE idk if I’m the only one but it’s so interesting

Can you then use the Unalloyed Gold needle to remove the will of the Three Fingers and then swap to another ending thus preserving Melina and attaining a good ending. That would be a sacrifice worth making. Edit: I see ppl have answered this yes you can. No Melina does not return for any further dialogue. You only see her again if uou fully commit to the frenzied flame. I think I still like this path narratively though. You were prompted with a way to save her and you took it even if she had to hate you for it for some time.

You can cheat the three fingers, and Shabiri, and their stupid God by taking the Frenzied flame and then fighting malenia. There will be an item called 'Miquella's Needle' left behind by her scarlet aeonia flower. Take it to Farum Azula, to a hidden location, where there is a fragmented arena. Once you arrive, you will have the prompt to lay down. Do so, and time will reverse, leaving you in Dragon Lord Placidusax's arena. Use Miquella's needle here, and you will have effectively neutralized the three fingers and it's stupid flame of frenzy inside of you. Congratulations, you cheated a disgusting outer God! Now to deal with the others!

If you take the frenzied flame you can't cure it with the needle until after you burn the tree. Reason being is the only location that will let u "use" the needle to cure the flames is in the zone it teleports you too after u burn the tree. You can't cure the flames before that

As far as I know as of right now the only way to access Farum Azula is to burn the tree at the Giant's Forge. You can use Miquella's Needle to cure the Frenzied Flame, but you need to use it at the center of Farum Azula. Your idea is great, and it got me thinking: Is there a way to get to Farum Azula without using the Giant's Forge? This is my current strategy and I am still theory crafting. Is there a way to burn the roots of the Erdtree from underground? Can I skip the Forge of Giants? Let's go!

I just watched a video where a speedrunner skips into Farum Azula and when he returned to Lyndell the tree was already burning and the city was in ashes. So it seems you MUST burn the tree, but the big question I have is if there is a 3rd way to burn the tree that doesn't require the Giant's Forge? I spent all day yesterday searching the Deeproot Depths and couldn't find anything down there... I found out how to do this in NG+ by acquiring the Frenzied Flame and then going straight to the Giant's Forge. I planned my NG+ around it.

Sadly, you can't cure yourself with the needle until you make it to Farum Azula. Without glitches, this means you already burned the tree. :(

i accidentally interacted here and inherited the frenzy flame unknowingly so i turned it off and my character isn’t burned, then i had the option to ‘listen to the flame’ and like the default cutscene i wasn’t teleported to the ashen capital because i interacted, the tree’s aflame but didn’t fall in the pit, so how can i undo the frenzy?

No she still hates you and you never see her again but you won’t get the chaos flame ending where she wants to kill you
