Bought a used turbo for my Range Rover sport and lot of ppl may not know that it’s body off job replacing the turbo for a Range Rover which at least £1000 only Laboure to take the body off , so don’t risk installing a bad turbo or you paying double for the job if it’s not good , found this video very helpful

Because just now my friend ask me to swap with my car parts with his turbo. but come to see the condition of his turbo without proper inspection, now tells me why he is so eager to swap his turbocharger with my car parts just now. phew. now I will have to re-adjust the deal again. I just went through a similar situation when I was about to buy a Bosch 044 fuel pump...good thing I did my research because I was able to show the guy that he had a knock off pump...he said he didn't know ....130$ was his asking price but the same pump is on ebay for 29.95$.

I broke a bolt on the part that connects to the downpipe. It's an eBay t28 turbo With my slow internet connection I'm having trouble commenting on here but thank you for all the videos you have posted and for helping my broke ass get my car running right haha

I always try to find good deals on the Garrett ball bearing turbos because they perform well and I can just swap them out like legos with my exhaust setup. My least favorite are when I buy a turbo that was claimed to be in "good condition" and then it shows up like one of the damaged ones in the pictures, lol

Both will be super fun! The E36 M3 will be faster by a good margin, and more comfy to drive daily. The Miata will be really fun to snap around in the corners, and a little easier/cheaper to work on. (Although the E36 isn't all that bad).

yeah, that must be the reason. On one of the pictures in the video it almost looked like the turbinewheel had melted slightly. I can just imagine how that would affect the balance of the turbine and how much shorter the overall life of the turbo will be when it looks like that.. :) Awesome videos btw man, love them!! //Linus, Sweden

VerticalGamingStudio I always go for the BB turbos because they typically perform better. Yes the journal bearings are pretty easy to rebuild (see my turbo rebuild video)

It's best to replace it and have the turbo balanced, but if it's a cheap/old turbo, depending on how bad it is, I'd just run it.

Right now I have a 1.6 miata with megasquirt and a cx racing china turbo. I think the cold side is .42 AR and the turbine side is .86. It does okay as far as spool speed, but lacking on the power. I'm at 218 whp on the dyno. What ebay turbo would be a step up from what I have and still spool decent? Thank you.

My advice is to save for a good turbo. The Garrett GT2554R is what you want, wicked fast spool and will still do 230+whp on pump, 250+whp on E85.

I wouldn't waste the money, you're chasing a few hp for $200 (and risking that turbo failing if you get a dud). In my opinion, enjoy the turbo you've got on there until you're ready for an upgrade. I got my GT2554R used with zero miles for $400 and it completely transformed the car.
