I really enjoyed this series. I have so many ideas for my own electric bike once the warranty has run out. A bigger battery and speed controller are the way to go. My Evo3 Moonster thing, is actually registered as a MORAKOT but it did come with a Certificate of Conformity to register it in the UK. That means the manufacturer just prints a certificate without the machine really complying the uk safety rules, but whatever the scam, it is a straight forward process to register it for use on the road.

12:18 Many factories have the same owner. It's not just a China thing. It's wherever there are regulations. For example: owner has 3 factories...2 are sweatshops with suicides and inhumane conditions. They have 1 factory which follows all the regulations. The products manufactured at the factories not following regulations get driven to the 1 good factory through the back. They then pretend everything is made at the 1 good factory. I know people that have to travel to China to inspect the factories. Everyone (the customers of the manufacturers) pretend they don't know what's going on but they all really do. Another example is Italy and luxury leather goods...same setup but in many cases they work the immigrants from Africa almost to death then refuse to pay them. When they ask to be paid the owner has people beat them up.

Little tip I know that you are from California so the trip would be a pain in the ass but I have family out there and they come out here to visit once a year in Ohio and the cost to get plates and register your bike is like $25 the plate and $5 for a year registering it they do that with their car is also

So I'm curious... when I ordered the nice sales lady (Grace) sent me an option list including upgrade to the 8000w motor and upgraded battery. Although the Alibaba site said 8000w looking at the specs of the 1500$ bike it was only 3000w. Once I ordered she sent me a purchase order that listed the 3000w motor and then another line item with the 8000w selection and, again, the upgraded battery. This totaled 2500 including shipping to my door. We'll see what I actually get, it has been built and she sent me a video of the bike. It is set to leave Shanghai in the next few days. I will let you know what I actually get!! Lets hope it is actually the right one. Also I suspect there is only one manufacturer of these particular bikes and a variety of resellers.

Step 3 didnt work for me. Ohio DMV told me F off because everything that gets imported has an MCO including e-bikes which only come with serial numbers from everything I've found. I have the Bill of Lading, receipt and the inspection. Then they decided to nit pick the receipt from ride the wind in Canada saying it didn't have the info they needed it to have and everything he listed was right on the receipt.

An easy way to get these registered might be to buy a wrecked Kawasaka Ninja 250 frame with a title and use that. However, lately it is very difficult to get anything from China. There are still a lot of sellers offering items for sale but after you send them the money they just keep stalling and saying it's shipping but never actually ship anything.

Just get a used 250 for $250-$500...fix it and keep it as a rice burner. It'll do over 100 mph without the upgrades :-P

You can get a higher power charger to significantly improve charge times. I'd have to ask lord Curt about fast charging, but I'm pretty sure the Li Ion cells wouldn't like it. But you could probably get a full charge time down to like 6-8 hours with a beefier charger

I saw a russian guy who disassemled this bike, and he show an awful electric inside without any waterproof. Also controller of this thing is usally worse than a regular controller like kelly or something. It causes this bike to be deforced to ~9sec to 60mph. I dont know where this bike were assembled, but i think all noname bikes are the same. Also it completely unclear what cells in the battery, how long they will survive and how safe it is. When you buy bikes like that, you give your money and your safety to noname chineese "factory", that building bikes the cheapest way possible. So, noname ebikes not ultimate thing. Its more like a toy.

Ran into this issue for the EMMO Zone S I imported from Canada and even EMMO themselves refuses to give an MCO for the "e-bike" when the DMV lied directly to my face and said that everything has an MCO that gets imported and demanded paperwork for making it through customs that showed it passed the FMVSS to register it here in Ohio.

Hey Inja I know these videos are pretty old but I saw you liked my comment one one recently so I’m hoping I can get your attention again What do you think the largest size rear wheel this bike could fit? I understand the motor adds a bit of width to it but since you said it uses ninja brake hardware I assume the wheel fitment would be the same right? I’ve heard the ninja could run up to 160 wide so I figure anything at or close to that could work right? I’ve found motors up to 10kw at 160/70/17 and smaller in width and I’d like to think that would be a direct or near direct fit right? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Yeah it would be pretty close if nothing else. Seems to use a lot of Ninja 250/300 knock off parts. Don't know the actual spec on it, but I think there was one 12k motor that would barely fit. Bigger than that wouldn't work.
