I know you want to make it a budget build, but at this point, You should just take it to a McClaren mechanic to find the issue faster before you have to do a rebuild on the engine.

Scavenge pump not circulating the oil back into the tank?
@owleeva13 сағат бұрын
Hey buddy, I've been watching the series, I bet this smoke is coming from the turbos. You've been dodging this, but that engine will have to be dropped, if you've gotta do a proper job. You need to remove the turbos and examine whether they are not full of oil. I bet your cats are already damaged. My one cent!

After your THOROUGH engine flush, if possible to access the oil pump through the sump, it may still be clogged and/or defective for a no oil pressure situation…just saying. Happy Christmas time for you and yours and good luck friend with your very nice McLaren project indeed 🙏

been reading all the comments...whatever you do, do NOT do an engine flush BEFORE verifying what your oil pressure is first. obviously It's zero right now but you may have to drop the pan or pull the pump or some others suggestion with the dry sump setup. If you flush first without finding out what the blockage is you will destroy the engine 100% confirmed. What little viscosity you have saving the engine will be gone. Then RIP 650.

i stopped video at halfway oil test point when your pressure drops to 0 to 10 psi. I think you have burned up the rings in both sides of engine. The right side was smoking and now the left is. I hope I am wrong for your sake. Now to continue watching video... fingers crossed. Well I'm glad to see motor didn't blow and is actually clearing up. You have the biggest ballz to run a McClaren engine when the mechanical gauge reads zero. I would shut my vette down under 25 PSI! You could plumb a thin clear oil line to an aftermarket gauge and run engine. You should see oil in the line plus an accurate gauge reading...

Maybe the return back to the sump is clogged. Is there a screen in that return line? Because if it pumps all the oil out of the stump, then that would mean that your oil pressure would be low and also why you’re not getting hardly anything out of the sump when you drain it.

The pick up sump pick up port screens are clogged. Each port on the oil pump has a screen . They are probably filled with sludge. 100%. Once the sump is empty, there is no oil pressure because the pump can't scavenge any oil out of the block. if you don't fix it, the bearings will burn up if they aren't damaged already. Remove the oil pump from the side of the engine and clean it!

You should really not run that engine up to temp without oil pressure. There is most likely a connection between the low pressure reading and the smoke. I'm getting shivers when you say that the engine seems fine and that you are not too worried. You should be worried! The oil pressure is dropping to zero or near zero for a reason, most likely due to some internal leakage causing a pressure drop in the oil lines, so it is true, you dont have oil preasure!!! You are destroying your engine by your trial and error method. Start by checking the turbos, their seals are probably shot so the oil is flowing freely into your intake and getting burnt off by the combustion. This would cause both a pressure drop AND smokey exhaust. Look for oil in the intake, maybe that is easier to get to than the turbos and could still confirm or reject that theory. If any of your throttle bodies are dripping in oil then that is your problem. But whatever you do, don't continue to run the engine for many minutes like you do without stable oil pressure within just seconds from startup.

Diesel fuel flush!!
@DazC2Күн бұрын
Please stop running the engine with no oil pressure! If the engine doesn't make pressure within 10 seconds of starting it, switch it off IMMEDIATELY. A cold engine will make approx 60-70psi, a warm engine will be around 30psi. Both readings around idle and both should be stable, increasing with RPM. With how long you've ran the car for now with zero pressure, I am surprised it hasn't seized.
