The problem with bricklink in my opinion is that usually sellers only have a couple of each piece, they're cheap but if you want to bulk buy them quickly you'd have to buy from multiple stores
@Thinginator9 ай бұрын
Yeah Bricklink is wonderful but it's best if you're looking for a few specific things. You can make a wishlist of parts you want and Bricklink will find the least expensive, smallest number of sellers for you to buy from to get everything on your list, or if you have one thing in mind you can just find a seller who has it and then see what else they have in their store that you'd like.

And minimum buys. I just had to bulk buy almost every modernized technic socket to push my order up to a $15 one

Hey here is a nice store that has a lot of bionicle/hero factory and system it’s called DD Bricks
@iso-didact789Ай бұрын
No the problem with bricklink is how expensive it is. If you want everything complete and unharmed, with even so much as the instructions, let alone also the canister/packaging, let alone new, let alone unopened/sealed, the dollar count will be in the many dozens of thousands. I will forever covet what a certain oriental youtuber has pulled off. As much as I like his videos I am forever embittered by him not blessing his fellow fans by using 3d printing technology (and 2d in the case of the instructions) to replicate and sell these sets on ebay or whatever for not a penny more than the original msrp. No more 600 bucks for the bahrag.

I work at Bricks and Minifigs Portland and am solely in charge of Bionicle and other CCBS themes. We have A TON of sets ready to buy (prebuilt) and we're restoring more figures every day. We also have a giant table of loose parts that folks can purchase bags of! I've personally been creating a lot of fun Mocs from those parts! If anyone ever in Portland, Oregon, come check us out

Problem with eBay, is that 90% of the time, Lego HeroFactory/Bionicle sells by auction, so there is never a definite price.
@Mate3979 ай бұрын
And there is always some lunatic that pushes the price way too high.
@Bionickpunk9 ай бұрын
@@Mate397 That's pretty much with any auction, I don't even bother with them.

@TTarps8 ай бұрын
With auctions you always want to decide on the maximum price you'd be willing to go to for the items, then place the bid or wait till the end and place it. Never get into bidding wars and don't excede what your original target was.

Now that I think about it... I'm pretty sure that almost if not all of my G1 pieces came from a huge storage bucket that was just sitting out on the side of the road a few houses down from where I lived at the time. I was probably still a toddler when G1 ended, so I was only familiar with G2, but when my Mom started sorting through the bucket to clean the pieces and sort them out, I IMMEDIATELY recognized the system a lot of the "mystery" parts were. Thinking about it now while I sort through some of it once more, I've got a feeling we might've tossed out some pieces thinking they were knock-offs... I certainly regret that. Anyways, I don't have a ton and my silly autism brain refuses to shut up about it, so I'm certainly gonna go looking.

Yeah, barter and haggle, I found this 2kg of HF pieces (mainly 1.0 to 3.0 (with 2010 Takanuva)) a while ago, was for 100 Euros, then got lowered to 90, and then a while later I still didn't buy it and it was for 69 Euros! That is an absolute steal, and so, told my dad about it, asked him to order it for me (I don't have a credit card) and get this, he actually tried to get it for basically half price, I think it was 35 (he told me afterwards), so of course, didn't happen, the guy lowered it to 60, and holy cow my dad does NOT understand the values of these things (like, 70 is already amazing, even IF you basically can't complete any of the included sets, and you don't get masks of certain characters whose pieces are clearly there (and the main ones that sting are Preston Stormer (1.0), Nex 3.0, Fire Lord and Drilldozer (I love both of these last two, Stormer too, and Nex is the only hero I don't have (there was also his Breakout torso there (but no mask), sooo)) but it was ABSOLUTLELY worth it, I mainly had sets from 3.0 (only two) and up, so it's all new, all very cool, big fan of the 2.0 heroes' heads, got Corroders' and Xplodes', Waspixs' masks, a TON of weapons and things, an extra spring loaded cannon, with FOUR projectiles (only ever had one and lost it a long time ago), a BUNCH of pieces in colours I never had, like red, orange and yellow feet, gun metal armour, and I could go on and on, it's great (and for 60! Hot. DANG!)

I've been on a serious nostalgia trip thanks in no small part to your videos, so this is a real wealth of knowledge I appreciate you offering. A few of the places in Florida seem to be a bit farther out for me, and I think I just miss the luxury of going to the official lego store they had in Disney world to pick out new Bionicle sets, but I'm definitely gonna keep my eyes on some of these places!

As an Aussie who lives in the land of costly shipping, (like most Aussies,) when I buy internationally what I normally do is buy in bulk or in lots. for example on my latest bricklink order i was looking at this reasonably priced Galidor figure, but the seller was from the Netherlands, which meant meant shipping was going to be anywhere from 20-45 AUD at least, so I bought multiple Items from the seller ranging from galidor, bioincle and Chima, and combined the shipping into one package because when you're already paying 220 for a lot 40 bucks shipping doesn't seem like much. Don't try this on ebay, ebay doesn't combine shipping half the time.

Bricks and Minifigs is a great store to visit, but they certainly do their research when it comes to pricing. Still there are deals to be found. The one time I went there, I got the LEGO Ideas Caterham 7 set for $40, half its original price, which was great because I always wanted one of the large scale car sets but they were too expensive. Bricklink is also something I have to limit my time on because there's always some weird obscure set or pieces I want to buy lol.

An Orlando Brick Co you say? It's in hecking Longwood?! False advertising mate... Actually that's not too bad, it's about the same distance as the theme parks, just in the opposite direction, but when am I ever going that way? Also best way I've acquired pieces is just being known as the LEGO guy. People have just flat out given me their collections, not even asking for money. I've gotten a few pretty neat finds that way.
