Hi do you have a recommendation for a begginer who want to use them as silks what lengths should I go for my ceiling is 2.4m another room I have that is taller is about 3m
@aerialpractice2 жыл бұрын
For silks I have 11m in 2.7m
@JennySimon206 Жыл бұрын
So I'm thinking of using the fabric hitches instead of rings. U only need to tie one knot for keeping the the hitch from slipping. I'm guessing that means u get more bang for ur buck as far as fabric goes because it's less knots. Also I wonder if u could accordion fold the extra fabric under the hitch.

Do you wash the hammock before using it? Great tips on having different length hammocks & in beautiful colors. I've started shopping for a hammock and all the contraptions I'd need. Can you suggest hammock length for a 15' height ceiling? Yeah, right? Thanks so much for your encouragement and inspirational videos!
@aerialpractice2 жыл бұрын
I wash them around every few months. There is a video with washing tips for you to check out =)! Wow I wish I have a 15' height ceiling. I am not sure how your set up is like (like how much space your equipment will take up) but for 15' I would get a 11m fabric. It seems like there will be plenty of space for you to wrap up the extra if you get a longer one too.

@@aerialpractice Yay! Thanks so much for the quick response! I was able to take advantage of a sale on Upliftactive.com and it was their last one! I don't have anywhere to hang it but looking around our covered back patio with 15' ceiling height, I thought, why not there! There are eye bolts on the main beam already which we had used to hang a real hammock years ago. So excited! Thanks so much for your help, which gave me the confidence to really plunge into the world of Aerial Practice (pun intended)🙂

Hi! I got a 12 meter fabric as a present. And a stand of 293cm. I wanted to start with a yoga hammock (not silks). What would you suggest? Can I cut it and shorten it? Or what should I do? ☹️
@aerialpractice3 жыл бұрын
I personally would not cut it, simply because I might want to hang it in a higher space as a long hammock or using it for silks workout. I just tied it up into 2 big balls like in this video. But if you know you will never want its full length, then you could try cutting it so the extra fabric doesnt get in your way

Your husband is smart. Rigging from a ceiling is almost never safe in a typical wood framed home. You can buy a portable rig that fits inside your home instead.

Hi Lynnea! Happy you are joining us to practice at home! It takes time and personal advice for me to find out what works for my ceiling (and what ceiling works for my need), I especially look for a concrete ceiling and had professionals to check which spot will work for me to decide. A swivel is what allows your hammock to spin, so turning your hammock into an aerial sling for dances. My preferred way to use my hammock!

The 6m set works well with Waist length as well? Or Does it bulk up too much at the top The yard option start at 9 for the ones I’ve come across, does that sound correct for low ceiling?
@aerialpractice2 жыл бұрын
6m for waist length is perfect for me. This 11m I use it more for silks because it bulks up on top like you said. 9yard is about 8m so that's perfect for low ceilings if you want to do any tricks with your whole body in it. This Sat's new video is aerial hammock intermediate with my 9m. Check it out then if you want to see what that is like.

Hello Jamie. What kind of mat are you looking for? I would say it depends on your need. If you do drops with a good height i would definitely buy heavy duty thick mats. Since my studio is not so high, I have a crush mat and a large yoga mat under for extra support. I’ve had my Ariel hammock for a while, but I think that it is cut way too thin and it feels like I’m hanging from a pair of pantyhose lol which is quite painful and also doesn’t leave much give to move in the fabric since all of the pressure is concentrated into such a small piece of fabric. I’ll probably need to get another one which makes me sad because I’ve barely used this one.

You shouldn't be self taught because it is very easy to train wrong and its very hard to notice until you suffer pain or worse - permanent injuries. I have taken lessons for a year before I started practicing on my own. Within 6 months I am bored learning slowly on my own and started taking online lessons again. Not as frequently as I would like to but the more I go the more advice I wish to receive. It's not impossible especially if you already have a good foundation on strength and flexibility, but consider having a coach! Stay practice!
