So I'm not a candle maker. I just wanted to give out gifts for Valentines Day, but I wanted to not break my pocket book either. So I bought a kit that came with everything to make 12 4 oz candles. The only thing I didn't use in the kit was the dye and the essential oils. I bought fragrance oil from Maksey. I also got rosebuds/flakes from them too because I wanted to put them on top of the candles. I made my candles on Sunday, and then an emergency happened, so I didn't get to add rose flakes until this morning. Will that affect my Hot Throw?

Pleeease help me IAM terrible in math. So if I wanna do a vessel of 7oz how much fragrance do I use? 🙁 I’m so lost
@lavenderwarrior1 Жыл бұрын
@@elisamoore6780 Hi, Get the total volume that the calculator on crafty base provides. THEN, Divide that number by however many oils you are using in your Fragrance oil mix. For example, "If you're using 8 ounce vessel, with 10% FO, then the wax amount will be 6.25 ounce, your FO total for that ONE vessel will be 0.63 ounces, and you total product weight will be 6.88 ounces. NOW, you want to divide the FO (0.63 ounces) into however many oils you want use. This example is assuming you will be using equal amounts of each oil. SO, You'll be spitting 2 oils into 0.315 ounces (if your scale screen only has space for 2 digits after the decimal then 0.31 ounces) for each oil which will make the total of the 0.63 ounces you arrived at from the crafty base calculator. You'd do the same process for 3 oils: 0.63 ounces / 3 = 0.21 ounces for each of the 3 oils you are using." EDIT: This can be done in grams as well: For example, "If you're using an 8 ounce = 226.80 grams vessel, with 10% FO, then the wax amount will be 177.32 grams, your FO total for that ONE vessel will be 17.73 grams, and you total product weight will be 195.05 grams. NOW, you want to divide the FO (17.73 grams,) into however many oils you want use. This example is assuming you will be using equal amounts of each oil. SO, You'll be spitting 2 oils into 8.865 grams (if your scale screen only has space for 2 digits after the decimal then 8.87 grams) for each oil which will make the total of the 17.73 grams you arrived at from the crafty base calculator. You'd do the same process for 3 oils: 17.73 grams / 3 = 5.91 grams for each of the 3 oils you are using." I hope this helps you!! Happy candle making!

I think your formula would be a little less than 10% because 1 ounce of fragrance plus 9 ounces of wax would make a 10 ounce candle with a 10% fragrance load, but if you added 1 ounce of fragrance to 10 ounces of wax the candle would be an 11 ounce candle with a 9% fragrance load. Does this formula seem right to people that are good with math?
