Dear sir I'm your student of SOIC intensive course. And I must say I have made a fantastic investment. Market may be overvalued but the cost of your course is mindbogling undervalued. Thanks for the course sir. I have bought many courses and wasted my money. But your course is above all. The knowledge you have provided is for all beginner and advanced Investors. You have taken care of everyone's knowledge appetite. Your course is a last stop and need nothing else other than your course to learn about stock market investment.

Different ways of calculating capital employed which at the end mostly yield the same result -Apollo tricoat uses the following formula: Gross fixed assets+Net Working Capital -Laurus Labs uses the following: EBIT/Average Capital Employed. Capital employed is defined as Net Worth + Long Term and Short Term Borrowings + Current Portion of Long Term Borrowing - Cash -Radico Khaitan uses the following: Ebit/capital employed. Capital employed=Equity+Debt

Thank you for the video and detailed explanation. I am sure great learning for many of us. As you have explained in the CCL business, where the fixed asset has increased resulting in lower ROCE, what about the reverse case. That is what is the fixed asset is reduced gradually giving higher ROCE. For example NDTV. How to evaluate such business?

Thank you Mohit sir for educating investors. I want to share some secret about nestle 143%ROCE. Before 2000 baby milk powder is consider as FMCG product,which is extremely competative, so nestle approached Indian regulator and change it into a priscription drug category. It gives nestle 3 entry barriers for it's competitors 1. Since it's a priscription drug we need license to produce it. If some one ask for license government will tell mother's milk is healthy so I can't give you license. For the last 15 years government never give license to anyone. Only abbott and nestle hold the license to produce it. 2.since it is a priscription drug one cannot advertise it so Abbott can't promote it's product so it only has 3% market share, rest 97%belongs to nestle 3. Since it's a priscription drug one cannot sell it in local Kirana store we can get it only from chemist. So it creates a distribution monopoly around it So technically nestle is not into FMCG business it's actually a regulatory monopoly. Every year it rise it's price by 1-2%. ROCE of nestle always improve.

I did not understand the NWC part. Net Working Capital is (Current Assets - Current Liabilities). How can you only consider RM + Receivables - Payables, even if it is required for the core operations? Capital Employed is obtained from Debt + Equity which are the sources of long term funds. Their uses are for FA + NWC (CA-CL)..so I feel NWC is Total CA - Total CL..only then sources and uses of long term funds match. I am a big fan of your youtube channel btw, never missed a video. Keep up the good work..thanks for all you do!!

What is the affect of increase in cash on ROCE.In the formula for capital employed we just take working capital(receivable+inventory-payable) plus fixed assets.Dont you think cash should also be taken into account while calculating ROCE

I didn't got the 'distribution & principle agent moats' under the supply side moats. You said nestle has distribution moat. Why, how & What does that mean? Why other fmcg's doesn't have the same distribution moat? Why only their products have more access to distributors? Is it because of brand value & demand?
@SOICfinance3 жыл бұрын
Number of distributors+Retail outlets there product is going to.. Eg: HUL has 8m retailers, this in itself becomes a moat. No kirana guy will stock brands that don't sell. Create Brand-advertise-distribute-more kiranass-more consumers: Repeat :)
