thanks for the lovely video! I'm designing a printer with v-slots and i was a bit confused and all about how i should do it this helped me :3 also why is it that everyone that does cnc/3d printer stuff has colored/fancy hair xD i wanna dye mine purple soon

Mine is the same as a couple of the other posts here. Even with all the Eccentric spacers in the correct position, every single C beam on my machine (x,y,z), the wheels are tight on the beam. Only 1 single wheel was loose and required tightening via the eccentric spacer. I can move the rails by hand and the wheels operate smoothly, but it does take some force. None of the wheels can be turned independently while the rail is in, without the rail moving as well. Is this ok?

I think I might have solved my own issue, I think the M5 bolts and nylon washers were simply too tight. Might want to add a note about not over tightening them. Once I backed off them about 1/2 -- 1 turn each my wheels were indeed loose and were able to be tightened properly via the eccentrics.

Hi Ryan, Great video as ever. We were lucky enough to get one of the first Workbee machines, the largest format too. We have always had issues with the wheels, some not even in contact with the V Slots. We don't appear to have the eccentric adjusters you are referring to. Is this a revision? As for the belt tensioning, I managed to get the same result using that method, so all good on that front.

Hi Phil, thank you for contacting us. You should have the eccentric spacers, they have always been part of the machine. Can you send me a picture of your Z-Axis from both sides? [e-mail] If you indeed haven't got them, we can send them out ASAP!

My bad!!! I've just been out to the Workbee as I was waiting for it to finish a cut and lo and behold the eccentric spacers are there. I couldn't remember fitting them, but then I recalled my colleague had fitted them. Sorry and thanks for the usual speedy response. I do need to perhaps have a tweak of them as there is the odd wheel not turning (due to not being in contact with the v slot). Your video guide certainly makes it look painless. Thanks again Ryan and by the way, our Workbee is performing wonders, 10 months of a steep learning curve for us but all very worthwhile and rewarding. Keep up the good work!

My c-beam went in tightly in the loose position, no wobble. Is this correct?

That is fine, as long as it is not too tight.

Hey, is there any way to tighten a mini-v or normal wheel assembly without seizing the wheel up in the process? it looks like the precision shims make contact with the outer casing of the wheel bearing, is there any smaller shims available that only make contact with the inner bearing casing?

Hi, we are aware of this situation in some cases and are going to look into it. You should be able to get the wheels tighten enough though, without seizing the wheel.

Do you have any idea what might be causing it? I ask because I think it would help a lot if the wheel assemblies could be fully tightened without friction on my ox
