These alocasias are some of my favorite houseplants--they bring so much green volume into my home. Do you already have one in your collection?

They are very tasty as well. Everything is edible, root leaves steams everything. But the contain raphide which give nasty strings so do boil them really well. In some taro raphide is so bad that it can't be removed toss them up plant a good one. BTW tamarind can easily give you relief. Not all taro are good. This one looking like mankochu, I might be wrong.

Hey 👋 congrats on your new Alocasia! These plants are fantastic-and they’re pretty thirsty and hungry for sunlight-I’d recommend a sunny south-facing window and a large enough pot to keep it from drying out too often. I hope you’ll download my Pistils & Pollen app to join our plant care community and stay in touch for future care tips! 👍

Hey there! 👋 Thanks for catching that! My aroid soil mix recipe is in the soil mix section of the full plant care guide noted above...but I should have included a more direct link. I'll include it here: www.pistilsandpollen.com/blog/how-to-make-the-best-potting-soil-for-indoor-plants
