can I substitute the compost with peat moss? So it would be just peat moss and pine bark fines?

Hi, I have just bought a Cordyline Australis from the Tropical Britain company here in the UK. It has arrived looking very yellow and generally unhealthy. I complained to the company about it and they insist that it isn't diseased but the yellow blotches are a consequence of being kept in a pot and it will be fine once it's planted out and had a good watering and feeding. I'm not convinced.....what do you think??

Mine is in a glazed pot with a hole at the bottom. Is there a hack to help it drain better?

Place the watered plant pot on 3 or 4 little cups from laundry detergent or pudding cups on something to catch the water until the water is completely drained. They don't like to sit in any water.

zero information on how to care for cordylines, apart from3 0 seconds on the soil- what about light exposure? watering? repotting?

kathleen, liquid seaweed doesn't contain much nitrogen, you need powerfeed or lawn fertiliser, or any plant food high in nitrogen. Also Dynamic lifter.

Don't keep them on water; let it drain. I save the small plastic cups from laundry liquid and when I water I place the plant on 3 or 4 to allow the water to drain.
