very good, I have imported into Australia as well as exported to Australia, on arrival you would present the copy of the import permit & the phytosanitary certificate with any attachments(varies with countries)to the bio security officers, the plant container/s are then sealed in large plastic bags at the airport and sent to be inspected at the govt facility(usually near/part of the airport) which had to be pre booked(we always organized for inspection the morning after arriving). We would pick them up ourselves from the govt facility after the inspection and the approval and take them to the fumigation facility(also pre booked), if not approved the plants can be destroyed, once this process was completed we would than take them to the quarantine facity where we would pot them up, the pots & mix were supplied by the quarantine facility which had to be organized well in advance before the import permit was issued. The plants stayed in the quarantine facility for a minimum of 3 months and the plants had to show healthy growth & leaves, if not enough growth they had to stay longer which could be for many more months. Once the final inspection was done and plants approved(could be over a few inspections as well) we would collect them and take them to our premises. I did lose a few plants during the quarantine process but not always and I am aware of friends that lost whole shipments of a few hundred plants so there are risks involved which is why imported plants can be more expensive. Very interested in the way the facility is set up, it looks great.

Gd day, say I were to emigrate to Australia. Is it possible to bring over my houseplants as an immigrant?

Such a complex process but I understand it’s important! I feel it would depend on how many plants you’re importing, but what kind of cost are you looking at to import plants?

Does this all apply the same way for bulbs and tubers?
