We looove our satin pothos. Yours is looking especially healthy! What we like to do for our satin pothos is poke some holes in the soil with a pencil to help aerate the soil. Aerating soil helps to evenly water the soil.

YES! I have 2 mother plants of this and i made one pup off cuttings and it has 3 new leaves on the pup right now! I LOVE this plant! no misting, not a ton of light needed and I prefer a bushy plant for the look and I trim it up so this is perfect for my home. I fully agree they tell you when they are thirsty, which I appreciate. In my dry montana air I water mine about once every 10 days when needed and use a very airy mix in a small pot with good drainage. I agree it makes the home look so nice. I have it in 3 rooms. the leaves are THICK too when you feel they are not like a pothos but remind me more of a sanseveria leaf

I love it and it kind of feels like a sort of succulent but in a pothos form. I hardly water it and I've never seen it curl.

This video is SOOOOO helpful! I recently purchased one online and kind having a problem with watering - I know it’s supposed to be an easy plant. I try my best not to water my plants overly, usually only do it after the soils dried out. Although the leaves curl quite often... I think I’ll have to water it more. 🤣
@eyesclosed37094 жыл бұрын
They also curl fom stress and it can take a few weeks for the plant to readjust, it had very different light and humidity conditions before in the greenhouse and the store plus it had the added stress from shipping so it's now maybe just freaking out a bit, just give it time. When I repotted mine to put it back to the same place it's been in for months before it still took a few weeks for the plant to calm down and stop curling. Definitely don't water it more, watering it only after the soil dried out is the correct way for this plant. I hope that helps 💚
@starwen24264 жыл бұрын
eyes closed Thanks a lot! Seeing the leaves curl makes me stressed as well.😂 Definitely will take your advice and be more patient!

So that's what I have! I was getting impatient waiting for my baby Silvery Anne to grow so last week I got a big, bushy, trailing satin pothos. I was awed by how huge the leaves were,. Well now I know why. And also, good to know that they don't grow as fast. It's a good thing it's already bushy from the start, ha.

Just picked one up at a local nursery, she had ordered about twenty and there was one left........waiting for me lol Much prettier in real life, and the leaves feel really nice, kind of like satin. Leaves were starting to curl so I gave it a good drink and it is sitting in the sink, that is how new it is lol. I looked it up and found your video. How did you get the leaves so big? Mine is still pretty small. Thank you for your videos. Just subscribed!

Dunno if you're in Sydney, but they have about 3-5 exoticas at Eden Gardens, Lane Cove right now. They have about 10 leaves on them. $35 bucks. I bought one and am going to combine it soon with the one I already have (paid $60 for three leaves a year ago). It is definitely exotica (thick big leaves), but they have the other two kinds of scindapsus pictus in Eden Gardens too (argyreous and the one that looks like it, but with bigger leaves that is commonly mislabelled as ''exotica"). This was the first time I had seen real exotica in a nursery.

Thanks for the curling leaf explanation Nick, mine is always curling, i am so afraid of overwatering! I currently have her in a hydro system with leca balls and she looks good, but nearly always curling leaves... Maybe a good soak of the whole pot would help?
@Sam_Antha742 жыл бұрын
Can you put her on a south-facing window sill, or is this too much light? Currently, I have her nearby my grow shelf getting ambient light 12 hours a day, and it’s not growing a ton, just a little bit.
@rachelo3154 жыл бұрын
Okay so I have one. It had curly leaves then I watered it, not a lot btw, and instead of perking up, a couple of the leaves turned yellow. The rest stayed curled. It's like it can't decide if it's thirsty or dying. I'm frustrated. It's near my window. Gets good light. Any tips?

I have one and love it! It is healthy and vibrant. I have a question...I propagated some leaf cuttings and potted them. The new leaves that are growing are pale/whitish without much of the green color. Would you say it needs more light? Or a fertilizer with nitrogen or chelated iron???
