MAGIC: Put a stem of pothos in the water with another plant that you want to root, and the pothos magically causes propagation of the other plant to root super fast. I don’t know how this works, but it does. Say for example you want to root a rubber plant. Put the stem of the rubber plant in water, and then add a pothos stem to root along with it, in the same water container. The rubber plant roots much faster than it would without the pothos in the same container. I propagate many varieties of plants and I always add a pothos stem. It works like magic. Try it, and be amazed!

I’ve been saying for a while that if Pothos weren’t as readily available, they would be selling at as high prices as Monstera Albos! The variegation on a golden Pothos, and their adorable heart shaped leaves are stunning! Never underestimate “common” plants for their beauty and originality, since every plant is different!!

I love that you showed the WHOLE process!! I could've used this video a few years ago, lol. I tried MULTIPLE times to root plants straight in soil, because that's what I kept hearing you could do... unfortunately, I didn't know anything about the need for humidity or even that the cutting would most likely wilt! I either gave up too quickly when the cutting looked sad OR I completely rotted the stem because of a lack of light and humidity and too much water😅

I've seen those "metal plant prongs" 12:02 referred to as "lawn staples" when using them to pin down the edges of sod to the ground below. But, I've also seen them called floral pins or floral greening pins. I actually make my own so I can adjust the length depending on the depth of the pot I'm using. And, I can also adjust the width to fit thinner or thicker stems/vines.

Hi Nick! This was yet another very informative, and helpful video! I've been propagating Golden Pothos for years and I've never seen it done the 3 ways that you did it. I usually just cut a vine that has bare spots by the base, keep the part with leaves and put it in water. They are one of the easiest plants to propagate. In fact, I usually just keep them in water because I can tuck them into tight spaces, or on a small shelf. I am going to try it the 3 ways you did the next time I propagate. I like that they are already formed into a small plant. I did try cutting between each node to propagate, but they all died. Probably because I didn't realize they needed the humidity when starting in soil. Funny story, I had one of these on a shelf, growing up the back of a cupboard in the kitchen where it was up against the wall, and when I went to move it, the aerial roots had attached themselves to the paint and were growing under the paint. Needless to say that when I removed the vine some of the paint came with it. LOL! Thank you so much for sharing!

Quick question… (and I cannot find this anywhere on the Internet) •••On the mother plant, what happens to the vine that you took the cutting from? Years ago, I had a very long Golden Pothos in a hanging basket. If I remember correctly, at the point where I took a cutting, the ‘Mother Plant Vine’ would grow 2 new vines. Am I remembering this correctly?? It has been 40+ years ago. Ty! Great video.

My pothos is looking so sad. Many vines have lost leaves towards the base. Many leaves at base are yellowing. I reported it and don't over water it so it's a mystery. It seemed to be the most happy in a dark corner or my bedroom where as it's now on a north facing window sill. Have propagated so I can start again. Yours looks so so full at the base. Looks wonderful.
