@@SucculentsBox yup I’m going to have to find a safe place for the succulents with good sun. I have a run for the chickens but they are so much happier and healthier free ranging plus they eat things that scare me like scorpions and centipedes lol. Hi, new plant owner here! Thanks so much for your video! Question on the fallen off leaves, if they’ve got tiny roots coming out, is it then safe to put them in soil? A lot of mine have sprouted with the leaf laying sideways, so how do I bury those so that the new leaves can escape the dirt?
@SucculentsBox2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, you can propagate a donkey's tail in the spring or summer by using stems or leaf cuttings. Of course, leaves with little roots sprouting from them are perfectly safe to put in soil. Simply remove a few leaves from the tail stem and place them in wet soil. Sprouts should grow in a few days, and after they reach a half-inch length, transplant them into individual pots so they don't lay sideways. Hope this helps. Hi this is kind of a random question and I can't seem to find an answer on Google or anything, but do you know if different trailing succulents can be planted in the same pot? For example a burros tail with a string of pearls? Any advice would be appreciated thanks :)
@SucculentsBox4 жыл бұрын
Hi Miranda, there are many things to consider when you want to do an arrangement. Here are some tips from us. If you want to arrange the succulents, a rule of thumb is to choose those with similar needs. They will live in harmony and maintain the appearance of the whole set for a long time. You should put their growing season, watering, lighting, and soil need into consideration. Besides the nature of the succulents, it is also essential to consider the height and the color to put them in harmony. Your arrangement should have the thriller, filler, and spiller. So I think putting trailing succulents in the same pot works since they are pretty similar types. :) hope this info helps

Hi, the Donkey's tail loves to bask in the partial sun or bright shade. This captivating succulent love bright light for four hours. But it might be burned by the scorching sun; so make sure to give it morning sunlight for better growth. @@SucculentsBox thank you so much. I got something labeled Christmas cactus back in 2015 (after researching and noticing bloom time, yeah it’s a thanksgiving one) Anyway, I loved them so much I went and got 8 more in different colors and varieties. I asked the lady at the plant nursery what soil to get for them. She suggested their own mix which was 17 bucks but I got it cuz I love the plants. Repotted and it killed every single one. I quickly pulled the first one back out of its new pot and brushed away the nursery’s blend and the plant survived. It’s still alive and I take very good care of it. But I would love more. So thank you so much. I’m gonna subscribe. My friend told me about your site cuz she LOVES succulents and only just discovered them! And she’s moving in to an actual home soon so she has more room to spread out and get more plants Sorry for the rambling, just wanted you to know how much I appreciate the information as not every place is knowledgeable 💛🌻

If the leaves you mentioned are not dead leaves but they are still plump and healthy, you can propagate them by laying the leaves on top of the soil. You can also try out other propagation method like dry or water propagation

Mine turned white. What could this be from? He was so happy then suddenly white and wrinkled. ☹
@SucculentsBox2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, check the soil and the roots for wrinkled leaves. They may have been harmed due to a lack of water or high moisture in the soil. If you discover that your donkey tail plant has turned white or gray instead of its usual vibrant blue-green hue, it is being exposed to very strong light. When exposed to too much strong sunshine, the plant may turn chalky white.

I dont know why me donkey’s tail is starting to dry… is there a way i can fix this?
@SucculentsBox2 жыл бұрын
Hi, you can try test the soil moisture near the bottom of the pot, rather than just on the surface of the soil. If the soil underneath is too damp, the roots will probably start to rot. Try also moving it an area where it gets more light as well.
