Look at all of those Bromeliad's! I had a garden of these when I lived in Hawai'i!

right on time! I just bought (another!) one yesterday, saying to myself, if I kill it again, it's the last time I buy one... there is always a plant that no matter what I do, it doesn't agree with me I guess (selaginella is one of these, alocasia polly is another one). I will try again to find the right place in my urban jungle and see how it goes. thanks for the explaination, and happy new year!

Oh. tell me about it. There are a few that I struggle with too but never give up, there is always a way. Thanks for the well wishes and right back at ya! Where are you from Yoora?

@@gardeningwithgabriel6698 thanks! well, originally from France, but I live abroad since more than 25 years. Now in spain, but was living in Turkey for 17 years, plus a couple of others countries in between. I would love to end up in South Africa somehow, as I felt in love with the bush (and the energy of the people) 3 years ago...

Nice, you sound well travelled. Always a good thing, the more we expose ourselves to, the more we learn about the world. Also, just great to have memorable experiences.😀 Yes, I do agree with you about South Africa. I am happy to live in this country. Though Belem, Brazil or somewhere near the equator would be good to. Either an island, or North Africa. Anyway, gotta go. Stay safe and enjoy.

that is crazy you say these two plants are your BROWN THUMB plants!!! I’ve taken out two beautiful ALOCASIA Polly, I’m on my third and it’s NOT DEAD YET! (2 months so far), and this is my second rainbow moss, will also be my last if I kill it. It’s too expensive to keep messing it up!!!! 🤣I found a pink one, so I had to get it. I’m PRAYING I don’t kill it. Good luck to you!

I live in zone 7 so I'm keeping it indoors for now, but I've heard it can grow in this climate. The foliage will die off in the winter and regrow each spring. I'll have to run some experiments!

We keep ours in a pot on a north-facing frosted windowsill in our shower. It's having a ball of a time there! Seems it's about to bloom? P.S. we are in Cape Town (so you have an idea of climate).

Wow! thanks for that. sounds like something to see. You could try taking a portion and if you have a shady are in the garden where ferns grow, you could plant some there. Looks beautiful as a carpet too.

I bought some for the first time for my terrarium but I still couldn't tell where the roots are.

I think air movement is important to them. Even a slight breeze, also water but not soggy soil.
