Stumbled upon this channel today and I'm honestly so mad why I haven't found it sooner! Well made video on the miurus species. Love it! Looking forward to more puffer videos. 😄👏🏻

This is very informative and you seem like a great presenter! Are plants important for the fish? Would it do just as well with a centerpiece driftwood and some stones?

welkerville I am glad you found the video informative. Pufferfish are one of the most misunderstood groups of fish in my opinion and my main focus is promoting the welfare of these fascinating fish by sharing information 😊 Plants are not very important for these fish, but they will appreciate some soft leafy shade. A centrepiece of driftwood will look good. I have chosen to put my stone at the back of the aquarium, so the puffer will use the front area - where I can see him - but you can scape the tank however you like. Just make sure that there’s lots of open sand space for them to wallow. They usually pick a favourite spot to hide 😊

@@straighttalkingexotics9367 Yeah, that is important. I've seen people pounding on glass of tanks to get the pufferfish *to inflate.* It scares me knowing that people could be unknowingly kill puffers everyday. And thank you!

@@snoopysrc I’m not sure. I don’t work on tank suitability by volume, I determine suitability by dimensions.

Straight talking Fish, Brother I'm planning to get one I personally would like to ask do their teeth grow fast? If so, would it be good to feed it shelled foods?

Thanks for the video, info and caresheet. I joined the puffer group on Facebook. Have you kept juveniles of the Miurus? Do the same rules apply as far as feeding? My Miurus is slightly over an inch long. Is feeding every other day ok?

Mine kept greeting me at the glass and begging for food. I found out he had a worm that looked like discolored camellanus. After 2 treatments at very high doses, the worm did not die. I did an overdose and the worm finally disappeared and now he rests more. I'm still looking daily to see if I see anything protruding from his anus.
