How to care: Hawaiian Palm

Hi guys and welcome to my channel. I decided I will now start making content on my house plants and share with you information on how to care and look after them. My first video here is the Hawaiian Palm, a notoriously difficult plant to care for so if you're interested in getting one of these plants, do watch this video and give it the best chance to thrive and survive. It's a very beautiful, sensitive and rare plant that if you get the conditions right will reward you with beautiful flowers and grow well :)

So I've had mine for about 2 years and I could NOT Figure out why the leaves keep dropping if it's healthy. It's done it like 6 times. Thanks for making the video. There isn't much info out there!

Really great advice about never moving it, that is very critical. I went thru a spell of losing all the leaves 3 different times. I finally found the right spot and its really doing great. I am potted in soil, should i switch to rock or wait till it out grows this small pot and rebed with a lava rock?

I am on number 7 now. And it seems to finally work. I put it by another window it has been doing good for a while now, but I am affraid of winter comming. 16:48

Just broght one should i take out pot it came in ? And plant in plant pot

It needs to be in a very high draining medium, lots of inorganic materials such as perlite, leca, lava rocks. A smaller container that is better so it dries out faster. Give it a standard liquid fertilizer with water once a month, maybe half a mug of water, these plants react badly to being over watered. Put it under a growlight or in a sunny spot, during winter it will need a growlight. Make sure the container has drainage holes and that the water can freely drain out
