Jade Satin Scindapus was heartbroken after the final 10 rose ceremony on the Plantchelor. In this episode we talk all about Scindapsus and how I care, grow and propagate them. I’ll also introduce you to the different varieties I currently have in my collection like the Pictus Exotica, Argyraeus, Silvery Ann, Treubii Moonlight and my newest member, the Lucens. Enjoy

The exotica is currently my favorite indoor plant (please don’t tell my other plants, I don’t want them to be mad at me). I bought my first exotica in 2020 and I’ve propagated from that one for a total of 5 plants now. In fact I have just replanted my last propagation before I started watching your video. I love the intros!

Anyway, I was in my local supermarket (Publix) tonight and saw this gorgeous silver plant with huge leaves from Costa Farms. I knew it was in the scindapsus family but had never seen one before so of course I grabbed it! Now I'm doing the research and it is a moonlight. I feel you! One can really get crazy with plants! They are so difficult to identify as to which is which. They tend to give different patterns in accordance with placement and sun exposure, I guess. My wish list is the exotica! I have Argyreus. I ❤️ Scindapsus!

Christian, you are an 'influencer' because you are extremely likeable being your wacky self. This influences me to be like that too. Also, I can see how much you admire your plants and their characteristics. Apart from the rewarding pothos, scindapsus are my favourite genus. Maybe even more beautiful, but not enough devil in them. That 3some plant (heh!) is just beautiful. I have never seen or heard of it before and am going to watch this video again. I am envious of your treubii, jade satin and silvery anne too - generally not available in Australia. Exotica is rare, but I found it one day and now have two. I agree they are slow growers, yet easy to care for. However, I have another kind of scindapsus called 'Silver Splash' I think (not called that here - often varieties don't have different names are sold interchangeably ) The leaves/edges/pattern are a bit different. It feels smoother too. It grows fast like a pothos - mine is right up high in the kitchen and has hit the floor and I have probably only had it a year or a bit longer. The 'pictus' pattern is mesmerising. I even found a weirder one that looks like the silver splash, but much more silver (but not bumpy like exotica or fuzzy like argyreus). A mutant one? Yeah I want yours, but I love mind too.

My exotica didn’t grow for like an entire year, suddenly one of the three cuttings rotted n died n then i moved it into another room n now it’s finally got it’s first three new leaves and i swear i could cry - it’s a favorite child but easily my slowest grower

Scindapsus is quickly becoming my favorite. I just love the silvery sheen. Little tip for propagation- I have had much better luck rooting Scindapsus in perlite for some reason. I had some in water forever and no roots. Stuck it in moist perlite and covered- bam, chunky roots and a new leaf in a week or two!

I have the exotica love it’s big leaves, the moonlight, and silvery Ann are living their best life. Had the dark form did not make it no matter what I tried. I have an exotica and an argyraeus. I've had the argyraeus for almost a year and an exotica for almost 2 months. I have mine in a pretty loose soil as I tend to overwater. Although, I've been doing a lot better ever since I starting using bamboo skewers to check if plants actually need more water. Only my oxalis appreciate staying constantly moist.
