🙋🏽 l just stumbled upon a Scindapsus "Moonlight" today at Walmart! I'm taking in all the information I can. I have to say mine was so dry the leaves were curling 🤨 as soon as I got her home, I double checked, and watered her thoroughly. They were released here in Texas about a month ago at Walmart along with the Monstera Peru. I couldn't get my hands on one but I did snag the Peru. I'm hoping to see them back in walmart soon. Yours is beautiful.

I even have the same dishes as you. Great Minds thinks alike. I fertilize the same way. Please try at least one bottle of the Dyna Gro Foliage Pro . The 32 oz bottle lasts me a great while and I have over 400 plants. I use 1/2 teaspoon each time I water to gallon. It also comes in smaller bottles on amazon. You will not be sorry. It blows miracle grow away. Love your plants. Keep the videos coming. It'g great not getting someone on here making sound effects and acting silly. You have a new subscriber.

Michigan. LUV at 1st sight!!! Once growing good, water when leaves curl under....pretty reliable. Root cuttings in water pretty well. I only use rain water. Find pretty easy plant. I use mix of pot soil, cactus soil, perilite. Doing well. LUV LUV LUV. 🥰🥰🥰

Thanks for this information. Just grabbed one today from Lowes. It was in a 6 inch nursery pot and came with a 7 inch ceramic white pot all for $19.99. I hope that was a good price. Seemed reasonable to me. You just helped me figure out how to care for it. It's a beautiful plant.

She’s beautiful! I really love the scindapsus, so I’d be thrilled to see it become more widely available. I really should try bottom watering. It makes so much sense, but it seems to vary from person to person. It’s seems to be great for the plant because the soil doesn’t take up excess water.

Bottom watering is more time consuming, which is one reason some people prefer top watering. On the other hand, I seldom end up with fungus gnats when I bottom water and I feel like my plants are more thoroughly watered. Thanks for watching. Stay well!

I have never killed a plant so fast as this one. Fortunately I only paid $17 for it. I think the ones sold in Colorado had already suffered cold damage by the time we were able to purchase. But who knows. The whole thing just died over the course of about 3 weeks. I have one leaf in some leca right now that looks ok. But I am not holding out a lot of hope. If we get more here this summer, I will buy another. I'm just glad I didn't buy one for $70 like I almost did.

I got one in the mail today from home depot. I am so excited!!! I have a few other forms of scindapsus but this one is a beauty! They are my favorite all time plant species!!! I always use distilled water on every plant except hoya. I swear the tap water keeps root rot away!

It will take time, but it will grow. I have a dark form cutting with 4 leaves. I cut it up and rooted each node. I find that to be the fastest way to get a full plants from a small cutting. However, it's so hard to cut a little cutting once it has finally started putting out new leaves. 🌿💚

Hi Peggy 👋 Great video as always, you covered all the important information about care for this plant. I got mine scindapsus treubii moonlight as a anniversary gift from my husband. After repotting ,it took off😍 probably the roots got space and established very well. It's not a slow growing plant at all as i was expecting because that is what I always read about🤗 Haven't mounted it but it works just fine for me. I like the way your mosspole looks 👍 I will try to replicate. because the ones in a store are so bulky (thick). Maybe your next video could be: how to make a mosspole?

I have to ask what made the holes? I had snails get one of mine and just wondering if this was your fair as well. It did recover however I’m super vain and cut those leaves off. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Watching every single video you drop as soon as they hit!!!!!!

I would suggest taking a look at the roots to make sure they are in good condition. Mine did nothing until I placed it in water then I think I rooted in Sphag moss. It's bee some time so I don't recall for certain. Once it was well rooted I planted it in soil and it took off and is still growing like a weed. Hope you are able to turn yours around.

It's a matter of personal preference. I prefer to root in water or spaghnum moss. I have rooted this plant in both and they were both successful.

Beautiful plant where did you purchase your? And I'm glad you mentioned the griwing season cuz I watch a lot of videos on youtube where they say that were not in the growing season but many of my plants are still growing but you cleared that up thanks.

Mine was a cutting I purchased online about a year ago. I'd rather not say who I purchased it from because it didn't go well. It's not unusual to hear people mention specific months or seasons when discussing growing seasons. Clearly many plants didn't get the memo, because they grow when they want to. I just repot my moonlight.... I bottom water it. Its in terra cotta pot. So..I'm waiting for it to adjust. So far no leaves are turning yellow...amen!! South facing window also!!

I just ordered two 4-inch Trubeii's from my friend's plant shop in NYC because I haven't been able to find them in the shops on my area. Perhaps, it is too early for them here in VA? Anyway, I should receive them by mail late this week. I have never had a Trubeii and I have killed my share of other Scindapsus plants by over-watering them. Now that I have learned some things about watering , I bought two new Silver Satins....... About the Trubeii's though, do you think they need more care that other Scindapsus plants? Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! I am praying that I will do well with mine!🙏🏾🙂🌴

They are in the Scindapsus family and their behavior is similar to the rest. Mine always seems to have some curled leaves, just like the rest of my scindapsus and can be picky. I like to use a moisture meter to see when my Treubii needs watering. When it does, I thoroughly water and then make sure there is no standing water left in the pot. Best of luck!

@@PeggysPlants Hmmm....Since becoming a "serious" panty parent only a year ago, I have had three moisture meters, and they have ALL stopped working after a couple of months. I could have really used the help of a meter, I will not buy another one.

@@PeggysPlants Yes, it is such a beautiful plant! A lot of Planty KZbinrs are finding them in the Costa Farms Tropical Trending Line. Unfortunately I am not that lucky. I know how to get rid of Fungus Gnats, but what did I miss? I didn't see any in the store or at my house. At night, I use a flashlight and blow softly across the top of the soil. Then if they are in the soil, they come up. What do you do at the store to see if Fungus Gnats are in the plants you want to buy? Thanks! 😎

I just got mine last week! Mine is from costa and is a heavy peat soil, the roots look great so i wasnt sure if i should disturb it and repot. I hadnt watered until yesterday, i hope i didnt water too early

Most importantly, do what you are comfortable with, since it's your plant. I would probably just see if I could remove the plant from the pot, with everything intact and take a look at the roots and soil. I do this just to make sure the roots look good and the soil is pest free. Enjoy your Treubii. It's such a beautiful plant!

Have you tried having this plant outside ?? Just wondering cause I'm in Florida as well. Closer to Gainesville in the middle of the state. Most of my plants are outside. Most of them like it, but I'm not so sure about the hot summer. 🍃🥀🍃

I'm sure this plant would do fine outside since it is a tropical plant. In the Keys, I find most of my outdoor plants do better in the winter since it is cooler without getting too cold. The summers can be a tough on some plants due to harsh sun and heat.

I just love them. But i don’t know what i am doing wrong, the first i got died. Leaves turned yellow. Second one i bought is going pretty well but i’ve noticed a leaf starting to yellow :/

If it's older leaves that are dying off, that's normal. If it's a newer leaf I would first make sure I'm not watering too frequently.
