I notice you don’t use a movement holder when installing the hands, I take it you’ve had good success with this? Fab video. Thanks. What position should the crown stem be in before removing? When you reinserted the movement, you said put the crown in hacking position, but the second hand was moving. I’ve had trouble reinserting crown stems in the past and wonder if it should be pulled out or not.

Here's a question for those people that swap dials out of generic watches for Seiko dials....aren't you just wearing a fake watch then? Great video!

Well this is very much debated in the community. Now if you take out a original Seiko dial into another watch/ case, really it's a franking watch due to the parts being original. If it's an after market dial thats where the waters start to get muddy.

Hi there - great vid, thanks! Quick question - I have a lovely 80s Seiko 5 that I'd like to replace the hands and dial but have no idea how to work out what parts to order to make sure they fit. It says 6309-602L on the dial. Any clues!?

What lube do you use on the gasket? Why don't you align all the hands to dead on 12 before you remove them? Great timing I just started on my Heimdallr today. Had to stop for the day to go on an errand.
