One thing I think is worth considering is in the truly low elos like me, it is incredibly hard for others to understand pings no matter what combination you use. I think in circumstances like that, a very quick 1 or 2 word chat message if possible helps a ton. For example around silver if you ping assist me, what will happen is your time will glance at the map and quickly make a judgement on if someone is currently happening. Once they see nothing is happening, they will continue on with whatever they were doing. There is no jungler or laner around my elo where they would even understand you want a gank or a counter gank in 30 secs or a minutes time unless you explicitly say that. So pinging assist me with "in 30 secs" seems to have a better success rate than just hoping they get your meaning of assist me. I'm pretty sure the meaning of assist me transitioning from "RIGHT NOW" to "Sometime soon" only changes as you climb.

i would not listen to 99% of pings in silver the biggest reason is people through their tempo away by following pings like sheep
