Doug, you have easy to understand content. I like that you explain what you are doing and the reason behind it. It is a great help to beginners like me that are just getting their feet wet. I'm setting myself up for this winter in the house. It will be too cold up here for me to use my shop. Hands can't take the cold. It will give me something to do this winter. I have already designed two relief patterns and a 50th wedding anniversary spoon as a gift to my wife. But I need to carve a sitting pig for next summer's whirligig I have designed. I'm not skilled in that type of carving. Your shows will help me gain confidence to learn your type of carving craft. There is no better way to tell a story than making folk art. And thanks for the advice you gave me through email. Take care!

What a great way to learn the rough concept of faces as well, this carve pretty much leaves you with a roughed out face to shape and customize however you'd like. And even though it's probably similar, I'd love to see a Tiki head in the middle of winter when we're all craving some summer vibes!
