I was doing fine until I started casting off. So many of the videos just did not got close enough to see if they took off one or two stitches. You went up close and solved the problem. Thanks so much

THANK YOU SO MUCH for going slowly! I have now redone my first beanie as I didn't cast off properly. While Addi's instructions are pretty good and I had watched several KZbin videos on how to do a beanie, the casting off confused me. Now after frogging the first beanie completely and trying a second time, I discovered that something wasn't right in the casting off AGAIN! So before frogging all over again, I found your channel and you showed that I only picked up one strand of yarn, not 2, plus I needed the hint of having the machine forward a few needles so that while I was cranking clockwise, I was working counter clockwise while casting off. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Subscribed and if I could smash the like button a million times I would! 🥰💞💕♥🥰

Addi can be very fussy about the yarn it will use. I tried numerous times and gave up with Premier Sweet Rolls and Caron One Pound yarns with my Addi. Some RHSS yarns work great and others not so much. I have found Big Twist Value, Permier Basix and Hershners Worsted worked the best in my machine. I think it’s trial and error to see what works best in your machine. It seems like each machine can be a little different. Or possibly it is because we have different tension.

As a person who just found NinjaBunnyCrochet, and one who has almost completed my first beanie, my guess is it is the person who is holding the tension. I just bought one skein of Caron's one pound on 11/25/24 and didn't have any problem using it, even reusing it as I had to frog my first one. Why? Because I couldn't understand the directions on how to cast off, even though I had watched other videos of the entire process start to finish. It wasn't until I found NinjaBunny who is very slow and very detailed and showing close ups of the entire process, that I was successful. However, I didn't really hold much tension, just let it glide over my hand as it came off the reused/rewound ball of yarn in a popcorn tin at my feet.
