the 1st one I caught as a kid. I had a small klipvis on the hook and I was just tired of catching them, so I just cast the whole fish out like it was a bass lure. Hooked up a nice one... My dad was pretty proud as his bass club was at the sea for the day and nobody else caught one.

Sorry for the short reply I was typing with one finger 🤣 I meant to edit it but I got distracted. I have not fished up that side very much as well as being completely green to heavy spinning, my thinking though is fish like to chase down an erratic bait/prey I have not had time to cover water being a 1 man band. Contact me when you come down I have put people onto fish before.

I prefer low tide with an outer bank that is accessible. Or working white water. It seems they like spots near rivers like blue lagoon etc I haven't gone to target them for a while but I may do so tomorrow

It is a really good reel and great value for money. It has an impressive drag at 28,6lb or 13kg I have two of them and used them extensively. They don't like getting salt water inside the internals like any other reel and I didn't service mine and fished them intensively with heavy lures and alot of abuse and I can honestly say this reel is a solid 9/10 I am servicing mine and taking some time off fishing then I will be targeting big kingfish and off shore species on 40lb braid so let's see what happens!

Hi currently using a Penn slammer which has been in use since November. Holding up great. The Azores are no longer in use. I fish too frequently so will have to service them too often.

Yes the okuma is good but I needed something a little more robust for the type of fishing I do or the type of fishing I expose my gear to, like wading and ledge fishing gets the reel very wet
